Will Shepard get to punch a reporter again?

Yes.

No? I think the gunship design is quite similar. As to the normandy, not so much but that's what was said in the interview and looking through the movie, I can't find anyother ship he might have referenced as a Normandy inspiration

You know, they've been pretty receptive to the changes we've made. We haven't really had much negative feedback from them. We changed Tali - that was tough because people were very passionate about her. A lot of people want to have her face revealed and obviously people are going to be pissed off either way.

Like "I thought she was going to look beautiful!" or "I thought she was going to be the most hideous thing ever!" So we've had a lot of debate over Tali's face, but that's the one we kind of dread a lot. We're always "well, let's talk about something else for a while!" That's something we're going to have to decide.

notice the line about "RPGS are not about loot and stats to us"?

Hopefully that settles that tired old horse on these forums.

Only in the sense that for some of us, it means Bioware now admits they aren't making real rpgs anymore.

It's a sad state for the industry when everyone makes the same brown paste.

*facepalm*

Because all shooters look like brown paste. -_-

Loots and stats are not what makes a game a role-playing experience.

Bioware's goal has ALWAYS been to make a great story-driven experience not a pure RPG. If ME2 is what the shooter genre is going then I'll be one happy gamer.

Well, it is? The plot certainly isn't about Shepard finding the magical crystal of light. It's about him gathering a galactic army to defend themselves against the Reapers.

And this wasn't done in ME2 because? I guess Shepard thought a twelve man army would be suffice to defeat the reapers lol.

Well my guess is that having the Collectors destroy the Normandy was kind of an obstacle in that.

"Derek Watts: Art-wise the original Mass Effect's levels worked really well but for gameplay they weren't so good. We had a lot of raised platforms and areas you could get caught up in - stuff we should have fixed right from the beginning."

I appreciate that admission. ME2 was even worse, however. Jacob's loyalty mission was particularly bad in that regard.

Well they tried =]

In anycase, I would hope that ME3's level design is something more akin to the level design in The Witcher 2, Multi-tiered, with lots of flora and hidden areas.

Have to agree with you on the gunships. The pic posted almost looked like you only needed to turn down the ends at the wings for form to be the same.

Actually I just thought of something. Maybe Shepard cannot rally up entire civilizations at his demand in ME2 was because of the disclaim of the reaper threat. The only way that anyone would believe Shepard's story is by experiencing the reapers firsthand, in which indeed happens in ME3. Never mind, I just counter my previous statement.

Let's not turn this into yet a pointless discussion about what rpg means, shall we? And just accept that different people have different points of view on that topic.

This should be the after-credits epilogue to the epic fail ending.

"I should go." being the epilogue for the epic win ending, of course.

Here's another shot of the ship from FFSW that's the supposed inspiration for the Normandy in Mass Effect. I can kind of see it, the over all feel of the ship, with flaring ends

I'm not seeing the Normandy thing, but the gunship definitely has similarities to the other image posted. The onmi-tool find is pretty nice, though one could also argue that the omni-tool is a holographic Pip-Boy 2000. /shrug

What I found more interesting is that they are focusing on a smaller squad, but all of the main characters will make an appearance. Liara and Garus have been confirmed as at least temporary squad-mates, though my guess is that they will be primary squad-mates. Ashley (and by default, Kaiden) appears on the Normandy during the Earth evacuation. Other than that, Mordin and Wrex seem to be doing their own things, separate from Shepard.

My guess is that Tali will be included as a main squad member and Zaeed is rallying the Blue Suns under his management (Someone pass the popcorn). Difficult to call for anyone else, and there are plenty of threads on that already.

Still, it will be interesting to see who got picked to form Shepard's main squad.

Also, something really crazy. Guess who's a VA in FFSW?

Captain David Anderson, (Kieth David) who also happens to be a ...DUN DUN DUN DUN!!! a councilor in Final Fantasy Spirits Within.
Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (2001) - IMDb

I wonder if they first considered David for Captain Anderson's VA from watching that movie?!

This isn't really true. Although you can't see it in the screenshot, during the film, the main character uses that tool with a Haptic Interface, the same kind of hologram tech that the Omni Tool's use, and you see her manipulating maps and readouts with her fingers pressing holographic buttons and such.
