Hmm. There's no scene in ME1 that shows a male's penis, so we can't tell if condoms were used or not, but even so, I'm sure the future has plenty of birth control options.

As for ME2, I'm not sure if making sure Shepard is still capable of making someone pregnant or getting pregnant was a priority of the Lazarus Project.
