That would've worked if all of the Tal-Vashoth you met in the game weren't former Qunari that were with the Arishok. There weren't any Kossith around Kirkwall prior to the Arishok's crash landing.

Though I suspect that will be their method of showing the female Kossith in the future. A Tal-Vashoth warrior who wants to prove to the Qunari and herself that women can indeed fight.

Though if they do that, I'll be unsure of who I want as a companion and LI more for the future of the series: her or Maraas.

They could have written in a rogue band of superawesomeiconic female Tal-Vashoth that sailed over to Kirkwall just for the fun of kicking some puny human butt... :innocent:

True. I just thought of them putting a wandering Tal-Vashoth group in right before I read your post and edited it in to my original post.

Still, that would've meant I would've had to kill them instead of offering them a cookie. I don't want to kill female Tal-Vashoth.

It may be that I intentionally misinterpreted (and was corrected in so doing) a non-dev comment as the source of this claim.

damn. I was starting to enjoy the thought running through my mind that they were experimenting with making a new type of baked type of food that is sweet and crumbly.

And then they tried it and threw up. Posted Image

well DA 2 adresses some of teh DA:0 complaints. notably the relation between char and att def crit and so on.

They reduced the number of uselles talents

the companion have a more developed story arcs.

weapons that takes level as the sam time as you do.

the intention behind the dialogue, henc i end up with less "bugger, i need to reload that's not what i wanted to say".

It did not end up being as good as it could have been and the end result was less satifing than DA:0 but nontheless....

I have an app on my computer that makes a random sound every time an application opens or closes.

No lie, the sound chosen for the DA2 uninstall was a satisfying crunch.

That felt really good.

I agree completely with you on how the Grey Wardens where in DA2. They actually looked like Grey Wardens, a real organisation, instead of some soldiers that can battle darkspawn.

DA2 Grey Wardens where AWESOME!B)

This will be long...

Hawke

Of the companions -

Isabela and Varric - funniest characters in game, and probably best duo that should be kept through whole game together at least once

Aveline - i would`t marry or date her, but i like her character a lot, specially when i am in rivalry with her.

Anders - probably one of the best characters in DA overall, and the most important of all the companions, as he had the greatest impact on overall story (expedition maps/sibling, act3).

NPCs -

Hubert - funny guy, i hope he will be back in Orlei or something

Meredith - fantastic character, though its a shame we don`t get to meet her earlier.

Arishok - probably best NPC in DA2, and one of the best characters in DA overall.

Liandra - i liked her like mother, truly. I think this character was very well done, though we could have a bit more interaction - in act 1 and early act 2.

Seneschal Bran - very good made character, a perfect example of beaurocracy.

* * Rest of the game * *

New character models for humans - vastly superior to DA 1. Still lacking a proper long hair(longer then down to shoulders, this is fantasy not a star trek) though - this should be the main thing to get for DA 3 in character models.(besides the elf fix).

New models for Qunari - probably best improvement from DA1 overall.

New music(i specially like the Rise of Qunair)

Much better and faster combat, with new animations (mainly the new staff attacks)

Mage and Warrior Champion Armor looks - the quality of detail on this armor should be used for all the armors in game. Why do you even putting in game those crappy robes, or condom hoods? If anything its a waste of space on disc, and they all look totally ugly. All this stupid armors are reused from DA1 - just drop them completely, DA1 did`t have a single good looking robe(except Morrigan's) and armors - all of the leather looked like piece of ****, and plates were too bulkier - female character would never be able to put themselves into that, and probably neither any elf, they would have to crawl whole game from the weight of that thing.

The pathing within the combat to prevent shuffling
The talent trees progression not being a straight line

(Although having point limits, defeated the object of this. I would also rather that there was not huge multiplicity of talent trees which felt more like upgrading, rather than choosing a particular path lead to a distinct diference in play design.)

Friendship/ rivalry system

(requires work, it should be more complex and movement within it should be representative of a character's views on a certain topic. I should not gain rivalry points for being a complete arse. I should gain disapproval as per DAO, I tend to prefer that system, despite the possibility of being open to abuse, in addition to the coercion persuasion skills which are sorely lacking in DA2)

That is it, the rest, either very poor or rather mediocre.

I liked:

-Hawke (having a voiced protagonist was a huge improvement)
-Companions (specifically Fenris and Varric)
-Companions forming relationships with each other, unlike Origins where they seemed pretty disconnected from one another
-Friendship/rivalry system. I liked that I didn't have to kiss the asses of my companions to gain their respect and have them stand by me. Even a fully rivaled Fenris supported the mages with my Hawke in the end despite his own feelings towards them.
-Romances (apart from the Anders romance...he came across as a bit of a creeper imo)
-The new combat style
-Party banters
-The voice acting
-Companion quests
-The Qunari (especially the Arishock!) and the rising tension with them
-Flemeth
-The Legacy DLC is awesome

There's probably more. Despite the negative aspects of the game, I really enjoyed it. If Bioware takes the constructive criticism they're getting from fans on board then future DLCs and DA3 should be great.

Getting my money back from selling it, the ending song, the Arishok and Isabella. Finally that Bioware learns treating fans of original title like test subjects to try out their radical changes on using an existing IP instead of trying radical change in new IP has consequences and hope they learn from that.

That is all.

Companions can weigh in on conversations now, unlike in Origins where they might make a comment, in this one you can let them decide for you

Unique dialogue tones and options. DA2's dialogue wheel gets a lot of trash talk because it seems limited but I found in multiple plays that with the unique tone options it really expanded my options out. I had options that only a diplomatic Hawke had or a Sarcastic Hawke or even Mage Hawke.

Companions develop alongside each other. Like Izzy and Aveline. If you have them together in your party you can see how despite being rivals to each other they still develop an understanding of each other. Same with Sebastian and Fenris. You find out that Fenris is actually a fairly religious type of guy who thinks about what's right and wrong in the eyes of the Maker more than you would think. (this is also brought up once with Anders who asks him if he thought about killing himself as a slave and Fenris was offended by the idea saying it was a sin)

I also liked how companions could mess up your plans. One of the best moments in my play through was when I took Merrill with me to the docks and my sarcastic Hawke tried to trick the guards and said they needed to get away there was a fire. Merrill in her Merrill way just said "But there's not really a fire is there?" And Hawked just sighs and looks down and says "No Merrill. It was supposed to be a trick." And she replies "Oh. Well that was very clever." giving the whole thing away causing them to attack us.

The Quanari redesign, though I miss having one as a companion.

The questioning beliefs quests. It was nice being able to just check in on my companions from time to time without having help them track down something or someone and instead just talk about our lives, were they're going, and how we relate to each other.

-Voiced protagonist, this is a huge draw for me personally, very much love the character to be voiced, only thing that would make it more epic is if I could insert my own voice in the game

-Varric, best friend who is a badass, funny, smartass type character

-Merrill, quirky and cute even though she isn't really trying to be, I just find that attractive heh

-Combat, defiinitely leagues better, specifically for mages which I mostly play

-Mage finishers (wish they did some for regular battles as well and not just boss battles)

-Some actual mage gear that isn't a fracking dress ! SO tired of full robes because NOBODY ever does them right, they should flow behind the character as they walk and run, not stick to their legs

-Qunari redesign, makes them a little meaner and tougher looking, but at the same time more stoic and proud, the horns are a great touch as well, helps differentiate them from other races

-Arishok, cool character, love the voice, wish we had more interaction with him

-Mage staff models, more varied this go round which was sorely needed for DAO

-Party banter, I'll never get tired of this, more and more will always be appreciated

-Flemeth's new look, so epic

-Warden armors/colors, this is definitely awesome, gives them a uniformity to help differentiate them from the rank and file soliders and/or city guards

-Leveling equipment, nice that some gear raises with you especially if you like a particular model

-Profanity, adds realism, next to everybody curses on a daily basis, silly NOT to have it

I liked plenty things about DA2 (probably more than listed here), but I also didn't like plenty of things, heh. In the end I give the game about a 7.75 if I use Game Informer's scale.

I like the way Draenei, I mean, Qunari look. Even though they are all identical and Bioware/EA apparently can't release female versions of them for some unknown and quite possibly lame reason.

Story and lore reasons actually. Female Qunari aren't fighters, so it wouldn't have made sense for them to be with the Arishok. Rather, they're administrators and better suited to being management type people. They are among the Tamassrans, the educators of the Qunari people.

Putting that aside, it was said a few weeks ago that we would be seeing female Kossith in the future.

Oh boy. What about complete lack of female dwarves in pisshole city of Kirkwall? :pinched:

Now that's one I can't explain. Hopefully we'll see some female Dwarves in the future. Maybe a Sigrun cameo with her having longer hair?
