Portal 1 & 2. They are good games but very short and too easy IMO.
Portals are highly rated because of humor, not gameplay.

I honestly don't care what genre it's supposed to be, there are characters and dialogue in the game and they were executed poorly.

No they were OTT, deliberately so, as 1 look at the games art style should tell you.

I agree he keeps complaining about the Claptraps but they were the funniest characters in the game. This has replay value and if you can get some good people to join you there really is no better in Coop.

Everyone is certainly welcome to their own opinion.
Personally, I didn't see any connection between the art style and the corny jokes. I found the art style to be interesting and somewhat original. I found the dialogue merely irritating and boring.
I understand some enjoyed the co-op mode. I only played single player.

Just thought of another (apologies to those offended, I know this is the BS ):
ME2
To me, one of the most overrated games of the last 4 or so years. A plot just thick enough to keep the game going, half decent characters, a combat system that was vastly better than ME's but still extremely sub-par in terms of general shooters, and nice, but not spectacular graphics.
A well polished product, to be sure. Probably worth an 8/10 in my books. But the scores and GOTY awards it's won? I just don't see it. There was nothing at all revolutionary about it, and nothing that makes it stand out in terms of 'magic' as far as I can see.

ME2 was a better game, ME1 was a better experience. You can really tell a lot about somebodies gaming habits based on which they prefer.
Halo 1. The STORY is good, the story telling is bad...as it was with Halo 2 and 3. Reach was a considerable improvement, but still nothing spectacular. It didn't do anything new...just did what PC games had already been doing, but on a console.
Call of Duty. I enjoyed the Modern Warfare games, but yeah...overrated.
Portal...LOVED it...but wow...people got so obsessed over the companion cube and "the cake is a lie" that it was really just obnoxious.
Resistance: Fall of Man - This game was the best of the PS3 when it launched...but it was a mediocre game at best. I played all through it...it was like if Serious Sam actually took itself Serious. I'm told the 2nd is better...haven't had the chance to play it yet.
Ocarina of Time. OK, seriously, I loved this game...just like I love all Zelda games. But it's not the best...I can name 2 other Zelda games that I prefer. (TP, LttP)
Super Mario Galaxy - It's interesting because Twilight Princess was criticized for being too much like Ocarina of Time, yet Mario galaxy is the spitting image of Mario 64, and nobody says anything bad.
and finally: EVERY GAME ROCKSTAR HAS EVER MADE. I played pretty much all of them, and beat them. They were DECENT games, but nothing spectacular. The writing in all of them was subpar, the characters weren't sympathetic. Niko Bellic was a jerkoff...everyone was talking about how GTAIV was a story of a man trapped by his destiny, but he went out looking for trouble.
RDR was...BORING. The story was uninteresting...and took too many cues from bad westerns. It's ironic, because I LOVE old Clint Eastwood movies...which it supposedly followed...but I saw very little of any of them in the game, aside from a few direct rip-offs.
