I've searched through previous posts looking for someone with a similar problem to not much luck, the link below is an example of what I'm facing.

Screen gets like this after a few minutes.  Starts out fine then there will be a freeze and the image quality turns to this.  Uninstalled it at first and did a clean re-install didn't run the updater this time just to see if it would have an effect.  Updated drivers and all that jazz, seemed to work at first but then it happened again while trying to get through West Harbor.

Retail Version
Video Card: Nvidia geforce 240GT (512mb)
Vid card driver version: 275.33 32bit whql
processor: intel 3ghz (dual-core)
3gb of RAM
OS: WinXP sp3

DirectX and .NET framework are all as they should be

(EDIT: I've added two more examples of the graphical problem)

Likely overheating. As a test you can turn down the graphics to some minimal level.

Hm, well, I tried turning all graphic options to their lowest setting (both tabs) and the visual bug is still occurring, however now at random intervals. So, I'm not fully sure if it's being caused by overheating. The 9800GT I had before when I first played through this back when SoZ came out worked fine and it's kinda wracking my brain as to the cause of this.

I'll probably just uninstall. It's a shame, haven't played this in a while and was hoping for another run-through.

I am having this same problem suddenly with a GT 240 from Nvidia as well. It is NOT an overheating issue. It is also not a drivers issue. In fact, it is only recently that it has begun. I was able to play earlier. It is also getting progressively worse.

Other graphic intensive games and programs do not cause this. Even the resource pig Civ5 runs quietly. I have double fans that I feel certain would be engaging in an overheat situation and they are quiet as church mice.
