Jesus, Mary, Joseph, I am unable to log in to any gaming website without seeing some bit of information about ME3 that I did not want to see, not until release. They appear everywhere, here and there on threads with completely unrelated topics to ME3. It was bad enough that you had to show the reapers invading London right on me3.com. Did you really have to reveal that the repears made it to Earth. I would have really, really wanted to be surprised at that even if the reveal came right after importing Shephard----not before! Two or three more facts that shall go unmentioned have also caused me groan in unwittingly-spoiled frustration right after I read them. Hawke is not the only one who wishes he could un-read something.
I guess I will need to avoid any and all gaming website for nine months starting now. Thanks to you!!
I know, I know, it ain't you Bioware. Or at least I'd like to think so. I'd like to think that you agree with me, that your preferred ME3 home page would have consisted solely of the release date, maybe with a link to the forums. I'd like to think that the responsible party for the spoilerrific Summer of Our Discontent is the same Marketing Arm of Unnamed Large Entertainment Corporation that was pummeling us with item DLCs for DA2 until we were Disoriented and Staggered by them.
If there's any game that needs no marketing, it's ME3. Sequel to best action RPG ever does not need dribs and drabs of factoids leaking out to sell it.
What a grueling nine months are coming... or perhaps this is a good thing... get more work done, yeah... less time wasted...
My God, please stop the spoilers!

Personally, I wish there was more information out there. But I do understand and sympathize; it's really hard to avoid any sort of spoilers in modern media. If you're that serious about avoiding spoilers, I would just avoid any information about ME3 in general. Stay away from forums. And, in the months to come, change the channel if you think there might be a ME3 trailer coming up. No doubt there will be a couple spoilers in there too.

Yes, avoid ALL gaming forums. "NO SPOILERS" simply is not being enforced here. And I bid you goodbye.

So...your complaint...is that Bioware shouldn't advertise at all? They should just walk out at E3, yell 'Mass Effect 3', then release absolutely nothing for the next year? And this seems like a good idea to you?

I'm not seeing any spoilers.. then again I don't think that Sheperd is in ME3 is a spoiler so maybe there are a lot of them.

Nothing we don't already know, and a few minor plot points. I don't personally consider anything revealed that isn't past the halfway point of the game, a spolier. People generally want to know a little about it.
If you seriously want to know exactly zero about ME3, then just avoid the net entirely.
I mean they have to market it somehow. They can't just say "It's a good game" and expect people to buy it.

The OP is seriously over-reacting! I wonder what you say during movie/tv preview because they are just as bad.
No, seriously! I get what you're saying and film/tv does that, too, but like any marketing company, they're trying to get you to buy what they are selling.
As for what's going on on these forums (or any game forum for that matter) while there be some minor spoilers or the unintentional major one - most of what is read on these boards is speclation and shouldn't be taken as truth because all of us won't know anything until we play the game; however, we're not going to keep a gazillion theories in our heads either. If we didn't have such discussions, forms wouldn't exist.
Having said this, I think most of the replies to the OP were quite harsh; however, the OP shuld've thought about how to word the reply.
I shall leave with this:
"Happy speculating!"

It is a bit difficult to avoid information about the game. Honestly, the only good way to prevent unwanted exposure is to completely stay away from all gaming sites until after you get the game. I might do that if I had the willpower, but I don't - heh.

They have to show some ME3 stuff to spark peoples interest. How will people buy ME3 if they don't know what it is?

*sigh* Then avoid the forums! This is my biggest problem with posters on IMDB and other such websites. They read topics on a movie they have never seen or a game they never played, and then they get all butthurt, saying they've been spoiled, and that the poster should be ashamed for spoiling them. It's your own fault for playing with fire! If you want to know about a game or a movie you're thinking of experiencing, but don't want to be spoiled in the process, they're called professional reviews...

Well, what I do when I see previews of things is I convince myself that it's not all game play footage. Like it was just made to showcase what MIGHT happen, not what WILL happen. I've seen movie previews that show some scenes, but when I go to see that movie and expect to see that scene at some point and don't, I realize it wasn't a part of the movie.

I never understand this. You're coming on _ME3 forum_, the only place in this boards where spoilers are allowed, and make topic "My God, stop spoilers"? I've always thought this is a place for people who _wants_ to see spoilers. The more the merrier. Hasn't it got more sense to post in ME2 section or in off-topic section?
