It seems that there is a strong chance that a love triangle could form in ME3 as a result of different LI in ME1 and ME2. I've seen a few threads debating who to choose from either game, or even a brand new LI in ME3.

But who says you have to choose? In Jade Empire you could work a threesome if you developed your character in such a way. I can't see why this can't be implemented for ME3, some PCs could be right d**ks and could only be in it for the sex. Some could find it too hard to choose and maybe in a future with so many cultures it could be possible to have more than one partner (some cultures now have that right).

You want to be able to do it with pretty much every person you meet? Go play the witcher. As for doing the same thing in mass effect:

You do realise that is mostly possible in ME2 right?
Romance Liara in ME1.
Renegade boinkage with Jack in the Cargo hold.
LOTSB you can reunite with Liara and get a tender "fade to black" moment.
Avoid all romances during SM, and then invite Kelly up to your cabin.
Over the course of a few side missions, romance Miranda until you can invite her up to your cabin for the snuggle scenes.
Break it off with Miranda, and start romancing Tali over the course of more side missions until you can invite her up.

you do REALIZE what a threeway is right?

edit: nvm didnt see who you were quoting sorry lol.  I also did a playthrough where I got with Jack, Liara, Kelly, and Miranda.  Good times on the Normandy

I'm for it. Shepard is sacrificing a lot to save the galaxy and it would be nice if his/her love interests could put aside their rivalries until it's all over and and participate in a little sexytime. It would boost spirits.

It's part of every other BioWare game, so there's no reason not to. Hell, it's a good line. "Ashely, it's the end of the world, so... Why don't you bring a friend?"

I thought it was rather tasteful, and very real, the way ME1 handled it, with Liara and Ash/Kaidan's reaction to Shepard saying "Can't I have you both?"

Judging from Ashley's reaction if Shep suggested a threesome in ME1, that 'friend' would probably be the business end of a shotgun.

I played as Sheploo, but Kaidan does make a comment to MaleShep at least about Liara being hot after the Therum mission. So he her attractive.
 
But I guess if FemShep is flirting with both Liara and Kaidan in ME1, he reacts similar to Ashley in that vid?

Well if you saved Kadian during Virmire and you are a Sheploo, you probably could talk him into a threesome with Liara. Yes, I know that's not what every teenage boy wants to hear. I'll also be glad if there is an achievement for it thus forcing all those little ragers to do something they don't like to get em all.

I question if the OP can handle even one partner (let alone two).  

Anyway...  It's always possible to implement three ways.  With that said, I don't see BioWare being focused on that aspect of relationships in Mass Effect.  The Dragon Age series, however, is another story (not that I have a problem with it).
