It seems that there is a strong chance that a love triangle could form in ME3 as a result of different LI in ME1 and ME2. I've seen a few threads debating who to choose from either game, or even a brand new LI in ME3.

But who says you have to choose? In Jade Empire you could work a threesome if you developed your character in such a way. I can't see why this can't be implemented for ME3, some PCs could be right d**ks and could only be in it for the sex. Some could find it too hard to choose and maybe in a future with so many cultures it could be possible to have more than one partner (some cultures now have that right).
