No.

Care to elaborate as to why not?

no, but just because i would change too often

So your reason against it would be that you would lack the self control to stop using it?

Good lord man, I hope you never try drugs or alcohol.

yep, i have a problem :innocent:

at least for me, i think being able to completely change your face ruins immersion.  I'd be happy with a character creator that allowed us to see Shepard from all angles and in different lighting.  Oh, and maybe be able to do all that before an unskippable prologue!....

^It's pointless feature since you can just re-made a face in NG+.

Yes please. Include a feature like this or make it possible to skip right to the CC in ME3.

Which requires you to play the entire game first.

So your proposed solution to something I'm presenting as a time saver is to go ahead and finish the entire game with the face I don't like and just fix it in 20-30 hours or so?

Eh, it can sure - especially since no one in the game will recognize it, but given what is gained through features like the Black Emporium mirror I'd say it's worth it.

Granted, you could do this upon importing a save into Mass Effect 2, changing Shepard's look dramatically, and old friends and people who are simply familiar with Shepard still "recognize" him instantly.

^Well why would you change your face in mid game?

Besides how can you explain that in game?
Shepard going to plastic surgery during Reaper invasion because he hates that nose?

It doesn't need to be explained in the game.  It's an extra feature to correct a terrible face creator.  Starting a new game is not an ideal solution, as we'll likely have to sit through a ten minute cut scene.  And once we reach the character creator, there is no way it can account for all of the lighting options or camera angles present in the game.

Because it isn't working as intended.

Personally I wouldn't even give it an ingame justification.  I'd make it an option in the menu.  It'd be a totally OOC device.  In Dragon Age 2 it's basically magic, and in the "Dr. Chakaws' Plastic Surgery Device" idea it'd be, well, fakey plastic surgery - but I've never personally seen the need to bother.

I just want the equivalent of being able to bring up the CC via a command.  Like you can do in the PC versions of Fallout 3 and New Vegas simply by opening the console, typing "showracemenu" and pressing Enter.  But integrated as a tool intended to be used by the player via a supported presence in the GUI.

That's part of why I wouldn't even bother with an ingame explanation.  Give the ability to tweak the face and make it basically the same idea as changing the difficulty level on the fly.

Enemies suddenly becoming stronger or weaker because of a change in settings doesn't make much sense in character either, it's done to facilitate a player's preferences.

Alright, having it would be better than keeping the ME2 system of prologue, create, say profanity, then restart new game.

Yup, that's basically the idea.

First make a good CC for the ME3 with better lighting, then do a feature like this.

SUPPORT!
I hated how I tried to make a proper looking Shepard and after clicking the start game button it still didn't look right (even though it looked just fine in the CC). Just spent 30 minutes working on it and only outside the CC I notice some things are off (cheekbones for example were and are always a pain). Some sort of plastic surgery device in the med bay or a CC that can be accessed without watching a 10 minute intro would solve a lot of problems.

okay, yes, i support this. Fine, it might not be great for continuity. But is there anything worse than making a character who then turns at a different angle in a cut scene and you feel like Frankenstein?

People do it through modding anyway, may as well allow it!

I completely agree, even being able to skip the cutscene would be good!!

I support this.

After numerous failures, due to seeing things such as the cheekbones stretching out to a point, in the cutscenes, I eventually gave up. I just couldn't sit through the prologue again.

This is the biggest annoyance to me. Them looking like freaks in an angle you now only see in a cut scene

Having to sit through that beginning cut scene too, it ruins the replayability of the game since i just get sick of the sight of it

I thought BioWare already confirmed this feature? I must have dreamed it.

But I support this 100%. I have the entire ME2 prologue memorized from starting over, and over again just to make my Shepard's face perfect. I'm OCD, what can I say? Even so, all the Shepards I make look related. :( So, I support a Black Emporium feature, as well as more variety in facial structure...WITHOUT THE FREAKY CHEEKBONES.

The problem with the cheekbones appens always when you choose one type of eyes (I'm talking about male Shep, I don't know if it happens with fem Shep). Maybe it's present with the other types of eyes (though I don't think so), but I'm sure that with one (the 1st or the 2nd, which is sadly the best type for me) happens all the time.

That'd be nice.  If they had already confirmed it, that is.

I definitely agree.  Especially with the fact that they're gonna be improving the character creator for the Mass Effect 3.  Iwant to be able to update my imported shepard's look without having to start completely over from scratch like I would have to do in Mass Effect 2.

Like I said, if you could at least change hair and makeup at will, that wouldn't be immersion-breaking at all.

To reiterate, I think this is a grand idea. I'd even pay for it if I had to.
