Naaaww, give us good old char creator without an option to actually rotate Shepard! And 35 minute long unskippable prologue

I like the way you brain. IT'S THE WAY OF THE FUTURE, GUISE.

I am in full support of this. I've lost count of how many times I've seen the opening cut scenes for both ME games. I always find something off that bugs me to no end.

And, Upsettingshorts, may I ask, if you have used your male Shepard in ME2, if you could share the face code? Its a really well done Shepard.

I have the Xbox version if that inhibits its use. (if you used any mods or anything)

I'll keep this thread topic short and to the point:

The appearance of our custom Shepards is important to us, but because of the unskippable introductory cutscenes in both Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2 a tweak to his or her appearance takes twenty minutes and a restart of the game.  The same kinds of modifications could be accomplished in about ten seconds with the mirror in Dragon Age 2's Black Emporium.

I don't even care if this is made available through pay DLC and is called something like "Dr. Chakwas' Plastic Surgery Device."  Of course I'd love for something like that to be in the vanilla game, but I'm not going to pretend I won't break open my wallet in an instant to buy the feature if it was offered as an extra.

1st off let me say IDK why but I hate the gif in your avatar. Now back onto topic agree this needs to be in the game, although it should come with the game or be in the vanilla game. Honestly I don't really want something like a mirror like DA2 although I do want something like it in the game.

Sure, no problem.

One patch of sorts to this code though, it uses the incorrect eye shape.  I changed it to the ones in the code below as a kind of experiment to see if I'd like them, but I didn't and went back what what I had used before - but didn't remember to change the code back. I'm not sure which number that is or I'd go in and change it now.  But the smallish, squintier eyes are the "correct" ones you see in the screenshots.  So what I'd do if I was rebuilding him would be to copy all the numbers below first, then change the eyes so they fit the screenshots.

@PlumPaul82393 Watch NBC's Parks and Recreation and there's a 93% chance you'll no longer hate it.

I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite face code for male Shepards.

Thanks cousin Logan!

It only took hours because I had to restart the game multiple times - mostly back in ME1 - to get it right!

(There we are, back on topic!)

Although I normally play the ME series with the default Shepard I would like to throw my support for this feature in ME3...

I plan to play more Femshep when the game hits and having something to correct the mistakes I make without restarting the game from the beginning would be great.

I can't tell you how many hours I went through to fix the Wardens face in DAO because his/her face looked off during certain angles of conversation, at least then you could skip the intro movies...
Glad they added the mirror in DA2, saved me loads (no pun intended) of time.

Implementation could involve the machine used for the removal of facial scarring but upgraded to alter appearance.

I'd almost prefer if - instead of the plastic surgery explanation - they go with something like how the Mass Effect 1 creator worked.

Maybe you just go to your computer in your quarters and select UPDATE SERVICE RECORDS.

This! OMG those long hours of finding the perfect cheekbones!! Just when I thought I've made a perfect face on the CC, looks alright in game but then during cut scenes I noticed that the jaws / lips / whatever needed tweaking and I *have* to go back to those unskipable intros.

I really wouldn't mind whether there is / isn't any explanation to why or how Shep changes his / her face in game, but yes. DO WANT

I'd like it. I'd like the alterations to start from where your face is currently at. I know my imported shep looked different than he did in ME1 due to the engine change, the problem was I could't alter what I had to get it right, I had to start from scratch and then I was even further off. So I went with the straight import, and it is okay just not exactly what I wanted.

If we had a free camera on the character creation screen this wouldn't be needed.

We have a free camera on the DA2 creator and I still used the Black Emporium mirror all the time.

I want a mirror. There's one in my bathroom that would work quite well.

I asked for this months ago.  Hopefully, they saw it then.

In other words, I'm all for it! :wizard:

I completely agree. Through a lack of good options (what is with the male noses and eyes) and the terrible lighting and angles I found it impossible to create a good custom male shepard. In the end default Shepard just looked better than every one and there was no point.

What i would like is a way to save a face on consoles so i can use the exact same face for another playthrough. I tried to replicate the face i had for my first playthrough when i wanted to play my "perfect" playthrough of DAO and ME1 and 2, but i always get it wrong, because i don't know which sliders i chose. I am absolutely in love with the face i had for my first DAO playthrough (my Avatar to the left).

Can you do this on console?

Erm, ... are people really THAT dissatisfied with their creations they want to "tweak" them when they feel like it?

edit://
I should clarify that I am a bit of a perfectionalist and thus spend a good hour with that however so I might have a better start than most of those in here.

The problem is angles. Some angles (and lighting) you only get to see in-game and in conversation (e.g. if you make a face that's too big, or has angles that are too sharp).

You can put me down for this as well. I can not begin to tell you how much I wanted an option to change my Female Shepard's hair in ME2.

I have spent countless hours watching the intro scene in me2 only to move the cheek depth bar one pixel back. The mirror was an excellent addition to da2 and it would be an excellent addition to me3 for us perfectionist types. Please make it happen! DLC or part of the vanilla game, I would be all over this.

Exactly.  This solution or skippable intros would take care of that issue.

If they want to retain whatever sense of cinematics they feel they accomplish with an unskippable intro, this thread presents just such a solution.

YES PLEASE. I don't really care about the logic, please give us the option. It actually makes a whole lot more sense in the ME universe than the DA one (and I still really appreciated it in DA2). I almost never get my appearance to my liking on the first try and going through the intro sequence 10x is not my idea of fun.
