No.

Why? It doesn't affect you at all.

I support this. At the very least I'd like to be able to change Sheps hair or something.

yes please - getting the face exactly right is hard to do in the generator and it would be nice to be able to tweak. plus hairstyle changes of course. but it's mostly a practical matter

Yes please! I always find something about a custom face aesthetically irritating in the first mission/dialogue sequence.

I've never heard anybody on the ME team officially state (or any in game info) that it is a 'retcon'.

It is, though because people still recognize you on sight even if you dramatically alter your Shepard's appearance.

That said, I obviously think it's worth it.

It would have made the 50k platinum investment in the Medical Cabin actually worth it.

Yeah, they should have made that skipable. "Do you wish to watch the intro?", would have been a nice question.

I also support the idea! Maybe throw it in the new loft.

I'd like it (for fun I preffer default male shep).

and on the subject of appearance changing, its just assumed you always looked that way and that you were always that class if you changed class.

I've been fiddling around in the CC of both ME1 and ME2 tonight, trying to perfect my face codes for the 2 Shepards I want to replay/perfect before ME3's release.  I would like to reassert my support for this feature.  It is really, really annoying knowing that you will have to sit through the intros ALLLLLLL OVER AGAIN just to tweak some cheekbones or something, especially since you usually have to play through the first 10 minutes of the game after that to get a feel for the face.

ME1 was slightly better, since at least it had the CC at the very beginning and the intro is a good bit shorter than ME2's.  Still, it makes it both annoying and discouraging to play around or experiment with new features.

Please, please, include a Black Emporium-ish feature!

This is probably THE feature I'm hoping for the most in Mass Effect 3. I loved The Black Emporium in DA2, and I really, really, REALLY want to see a "Dr Chakwas' Plastic Survey Devic" or something similar in Mass Effect 3. If we could have a machine that healed Shepards scars in ME2, then surely we can have a cosmetic face-changing device in ME3.

Pretty please Bioware. Surely people have given enough positive feedback on the Black Emporium for you to add this feature to ME3.

I started playing DA2 a week ago and as soon as I used the mirror for the first time this very idea came to my mind... it would be fantastic to see something similar in ME3.
.
Also more option in character creation... in both DA we have so much more options...

I think it is a great idea. Having said that, I love my current femShep's looks from ME2 and hope to carry that over to 3.

I support this, they don't even have to be a rational reason for it.

I agree.  It doesn't need to be explained in game.  Characters don't need to respond to any changes made in Shepard either.

In dragon age 2 there is one simple explanation that i can swollow and i quote "The Mirror of Transformation is an insidious and twisted device. When you alter your appearance with the device it doesn't just change who you are, but it changes who you were and will be in the future. It selects from one of the infinite possible universes where you were brought up with a different lineage and twists that thread of history into the currently experienced reality. The ripples of this action affect your family and other people's memory of your appearance as well" Its simple easy to remember and if anyone has a problem of no NPC reacting this explains it.

/\\What?
So since we're still talking about this I might as well repeat myself here and say I still want the mirror.

Silly^ :P

Only if it isn't the Eluvian mirror from DA2 where Merrill would be involved, yikes :D. Otherwise, I would just rather have something relevant to the surgical kiosk type thing where I removed my facial scars in ME2 in the medical bay.

That seems to be the most practical way of working it into the setting... for players that care, that is.  I honestly wouldn't be opposed to an option to tweak my character's appearance in the Squad window.  For me, an in game explanation is unnecessary.

I can certainly see how this could damage immersion for other players, though.
