Actually 50 000 years ago shamans sacrificed themself to create Shepard and prevent Reaper threat, but occasionally Shepard lost all memories during Torfan/Akuze/Elysium.

Hmmm, you are missing the fact that Shepard is full of  regenerative nanites. Shepard literally shines if scratch a little.

I doubt Shep is a clone, though I'm quite partial to a 'Cerberus troopers are clones of Shepard/Miranda/Jacob' theory.

He's totally an awesome cyborg/Reaper thing though. 'DEM EYES!
