Mine is grunt with anyone

very elaborate post, lol. depending on the mission/enemies i choose my squaddies accordingly. 

•  missions swarmed with krogan : usually ill grab mordin for incinerate, and either grunt or jacob for tank.
  
• wide-open missions with cover scattered : garrus for sniper of course, miranda for her HP and damage aura, possibly zaeed to compliment garrus.
  
• closed in missions, clearing out rooms : kasumi for shadow strike, tali for combat drone, grunt for tank w/shotty.
  
• harbinger/collector missions : tali for combat drone always, it helps so much when harbinger is charging at you. mirandas warp helps a great deal with their barriers, and the slam is clutch for unshielded enemies.

BTW these are all with a vanguard. depending on your class the squaddies you like to play with could be completely different.
[*]myonly problem with grunt is that i wish he had a command, so i could tell him to go banzai. i love when he just activates fortification and charges at enemies head first, his headbuts are so OP. i just wish we could give him a command to go charge at enemies. and OMG these bullet points are from hell, begone

For all purpose, hard to bead Garrus plus Mordin/Biotic of choice. Good mix of combat at multiple ranges (Garrus), defense stripping (Conc shot and overload from garrus, incinerate/warp from Mordin or Biotic) and CC (esp if you use Mordin)
