What do you think of this multiplayer feature that's supposed to be included in Mass Effect 3 if it's true?

The way there implementing it sounds sort of stupid. And I'm expecting something similar to Hoard mode. What I'd really like is a standalone campaign that takes place either slightly before, or parallel to, the events of ME3. Telling either a prologue or detailing the resistance on earth.

It's likely a feature I'll never use, but if others will enjoy it, why should I be bothered?

There was a rumor about the kinect and it was downplayed. Suddenly the kinect is being used with ME3. I think by this point they know we know and should stop acting like it's some big secret. They included multiplayer. I just want them to confirm it so I can finally make my decision to wait until it comes down in price.

well i have no real opinion on it as long as it doesn't make the campaign short as all hell (MW,MW2,BLACK OPS)
im kind of happy if its even gonna have only coop missions of course i would be very happy if it had a coop campaign but still if it makes the camapign short i will be VERY disapointed
i would really likee to play with my friends to see what classes they are,to give'em some hints and all most of all have fun playng it
i quite enjoy multiplayer like the one uncharted 2 the campaign isn't short and it has a very nice multiplayer

What, my search button works in different way? You know, which gives 51 result to multiplayer, at least 20 of them are recent and ME3 related?

I've gotten to the point that I don't care any more. As long as the SP is fine, it doesn't matter. Of course if the SP doesn't live up to the hype and there is MP, then ... I'll know what to blame.

From 1UP: Warning, large block of text incoming!!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A rumor last year suggested a multiplayer-focused Mass Effect game was in development before a separate report said that Mass Effect 3 would include a multiplayer component. The possibility remains unconfirmed by BioWare, but two new reports today reaffirm that multiplayer is coming in ME3.Eurogamer reports a four-player, online co-op mode is included. It's a "standalone" component and has "competitive elements." The story refers to the possibility of something similar to Gears of War's Horde mode or Halo's Firefight as a possibility. Both of those examples see players working together to fight off increasingly difficult waves of AI-controlled enemies.BioWare co-founder Ray Muzyka told Eurogamer last week, "We haven't talked at all about multiplayer in the Mass Effect franchise, but we're exploring multiplayer in all of our games and all of our franchises." He added, "It's always an idea we're interested in."CVG has independently backed up the multiplayer rumor, although its source says ME3 won't have something akin to Horde mode. Instead, the game will have a "handful" of replayable, "original missions" that are separate from the game's campaign."Mainstream penetration is a major goal for Mass Effect 3 and those high up feel online co-op is the answer they're looking for," the source said. "EA's keen to push the multiplayer side of the game to help spread word of mouth -- so it's not just going to rehash stuff from the campaign. It's going all out."It doesn't come as much of a surprise that Mass Effect would adopt a multiplayer mode. Dead Space might not have seemed like an obvious game to get such an addition, yet Dead Space 2 packed in online multiplayer -- even if not everyone believes that shoehorning in multiplayer is a wise move.Mass Effect 3 was delayed in early May. It's now scheduled to be out on March 6 with Kinect voice control in the 360 version.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 My personal opinion:

They delayed the game, and added Kinect compatibility.  The game has been delayed a couple of extra months. Let's hope that they (Bioware) have something to show for the delay, other than Kinect controls. Multiplayer would actually be nice, granted that it isn't lousy & tacked on, i.e. detracts from the Singe-player.

Honestly, I don't really have a problem with multiplayer or co-op as long as the main campaign is still as high in quality and as replayable as the first 2 games.

Honestly, Multilayer will be horrendous and just be a simple lame hoard mode, most likely not worth the delay..

If it is included I hope that they follow what the majority say and allow some sort of standalone campaign for co-op, otherwise it won't be great at all.

If there was multiplayer it would've been announced at E3. No question.

Portal was an amazing single player experience, and I wanted this enhanced more so in the sequel. This actually turned out to be the case, with a campaign roughly three times as long. In addition, I was pleasantly surprised with one of my favourite ever co-op campaigns.

Focusing on an additional campaign certainly doesn't mean a worsened single player, if implemented correctly. And having loved both ME1 and ME2 (both day one purchases), I'm going to put my faith in BioWare on this one.

Sounds fine to me.

A few Co-Op missions should hardly have any sort of noticeable negative impact on the main game. I understand some may not like Multiplayer, but the reasons to oppose it are silly and entirely selfish. If the very addition of multiplayer bothers you then you should oppose the gameplay changes in ME2 as they have made it all the more likely this would occur. (I was susprised ME2 didn't have any Multiplayer really.)

If you're concerned about it detracting from the quality of the singlplayer experience... Well you should really be more concerned who is on the Development Team. I've seen many games with poor multiplayer, but rarely have I seen multiplayer make the singleplayer game any worse. The Devs either make a good game or they don't.

If your concern is time for a lack of content, then you really should advocate ME3's release date be pushed back to Holiday 2012.

If they do choose to add multiplayer hopefully they plan to have a separate team working on it, rather than pulling people who are currently working on the single player campaign.
