It's unfortunate that, especially since he has an account here, he didn't snap a shot with a cell phone of the slide in question. Would've shut up one side or the other for good.

If BioWare did make a multiplayer DLC, I'd welcome it with open arms. And anyone who doesn't want it, doesn't have to get it. It'd have to be something that captures the essence of the ME series, though. If it mixed combat, exploration, customisation and conversation, I could see it working well. If it was just some Alliance vs Cerberus team deathmatch crap, I'd be disappointed.

Please don't give the Bioware devs any ideas! (Just like Shep says to Liara: "Please don't give the mercs any ideas!")

What do you think of this multiplayer feature that's supposed to be included in Mass Effect 3 if it's true?

Not much. The source of this article is another article. That article is based on the same rumors that have been discussed to death in these forums.

I'm in the 'No multiplayer or Co-op of ANY kind in ME3' camp on this one btw. Though I'd be fine with it if they released multiplayer AFTER the main game. I wouldn't buy it but at least I'd know BioWare didn't take development time away from the single player campaign in order to make a crappy multiplayer aspect.

I'm in the same camp.

Bioware should be working on the single player game, not taking resources away from that to implement an unnecessary multiplayer mode.  If Mass Effect 3 is released with a multiplayer mode at the expense of a shorter or less fulfilling single player game, I won't be buying this game new on Day 1. I'll borrow or buy used.

After the DA2 debacle I'd also probably be done with Bioware.

No, there won't be, confirmed by Casey D. Hudson here:

So please, stop with the Multiplayer/Co-Op posts, they're not funny anymore and it's a thing that might involve the future of the franchise aside from Shepard's trilogy.

Whereabouts in that vid did he mention MP?  I didn't see/hear anything Posted Image

There wasn't any mention of multiplayer in this video.

MP comment is at about 8:40, listen to it good, if they wanted to add it, they'd do it since the first one ;)

If the posts/threads are against the rules the mods will shut them down.  If you don't like them you can just not read them Posted Image

As an example this thread was started a month ago and has yet to be locked.  The only reason it is back on the front page is because some peeps posted today (without any sauces) about a possible MP DLC that will be released post ME3's release.

Anyways, what Casey said is the closest BW have come recently to a 100% clear denial of MP in ME3.

Thanks for that video, I'd been looking for it for a few days. That's the first time he's made a statement that actually implies "no multiplayer" without fully dodging the question, so I'll accept that people will stand by that statement. I just hope he's telling the truth, I still feel that the game will have multiplayer unless it didn't make the final content for one reason or another.

I don't think that vid quite says what you folks think it says. A multiplayer DLC, which is the rumor du jour, doesn't contradict what he said if the DLC is something that happens outside the SP campaign.

If they wanted to put MP in the series, as he said, they would have done it since ME1 :)

That interview gave me a huge relief about Shepard's trilogy ending :)

If they're adding multiplayer to the game to attract fans, it's completely useless to add it a month after the game is played and sold by the audience that adding multiplayer is supposed to keep.

LuPoM, the ending will be great or terrible regardless of whether or not multiplayer is in the game

Sure. The only reason for doing MP as a DLC would be thinking that the DLC will make money. Which is a good enough reason.

DLC only sells to folks that already have the game. ^_^

I still expect some form of multiplayer in the vanilla game, then seeing DLC multi-player modes being added in would be reasonable.  This is of course assuming you follow the notion that adding mp will increase unit sales (which EA obviously does).

That's what I was trying to imply there -- you don't do MP as DLC-only if you think it's a good tool for raising overall sales. If that's what you believe then you put it in the main game.

Edit: Damn autocorrect...

In fairness to what Casey said, it was a lot less vague than they usually are, but I agree that it still allows them a bit of 'leeway' should they be implementing/wish to implement MP DLC.

Other than the two posters in this thread has anyone seen anything else about the DLC?  All I can find is the same quotes that have been posted here Posted Image

I'm a woman for one and in regards to getting a shot of the slide, I did contemplate it for a moment but we were warned about taking photos/videos during presentations and I have no intention of losing my job. Rockstar showed us a Max Payne 3 demo and, no joke, they had security guys with night vision goggles to make sure no images were taken.

I understand this is a sensitive issue and people don't like rumors or conjecture and demand proof, I only posted it to make people aware.

Whilst the game is still a ways off this was mentioned as a major selling point of the game and the main purpose of these presentations was to create awareness to increase pre-order numbers.

How would the presentation increase awareness if it was behind closed doors and the information was meant to remain confidential?

Not awareness to the public, awarness to the co-ordinators who run the games departments at stores. A lot of them only have basic gaming knowledge or aren't familiar with all the games forthcoming.

In ME3 i don't want co-op because is the last episode of a saga that is single-player. For future games related with ME universe i don't mind though....
