Not sure if this is gameplay issue or a technical glitch.
After a boss battle, my hero character had a status called "aura of weekenss." In addition to attribute penalties, according to the game blurb, it also raises the fatigue level, movement speed etc.
The problem is I cannot remove it with items or spell. Nor does going to camp, entering a new town etc, remove this. The idiot hero has been stuck with it for more than two hours of game time.
Is this a bug, or am I missing something here?
Or is it Maker's/Paragon's curse for cheating with the console? (I confess)

This happened to me too after fighting a Revenant. The only solution was to load an earlier save.

Thanks, DiscobirdI could do that.
Hoping I do not have to, because I did cover quite a bit of story after that thinking it'll go away.
Unless Bioware has an answer, I might try to edit the save file...

Does it persist through area transitions? It seems like a bug, but without repro steps, I can't say what would have caused it.
Let me know if it sticks around after an area transition, if it does, I can write you a small script to remove it (assuming you are on the PC).

Yes, it does. Started in the Fade, continued in the camp, Redcliffe, encounters and Denerim. Even saving and reloading has no effect.

i have the same problem too, after searching the forum, it seems to be a widespread bug. The aura of weakness stays on the PC even after transiting, resting in camp, having alister cast his dispel, injury kit, etc etc. Pls come out with a script. Thanks!

I once had a similar thing happen with a movement speed debuff from a grease trap in the fade. I have no idea how to reproduce it though.

The same issue happened to me.
Info for the devs on how to reproduce: It seems that the fight at the end of the Fade section of the Mage Tower questline causes you to get the debuff, and for some reason it persisted on me afterward.
Solution to the problem for others: You can purposely cause your main character to die (just engage something in combat and have your other characters just wander around). When your character comes back to life after the fight, the Aura will be gone.

The same thing happened to me. It finnally went away after a few zone transitions. I had actually zoned into the magic shop to buy a manual to see if adding the dispell spell (forgot name) would remove it. It was gone after I had quicksaved in the shop.

I deliberately had the hero killed (sent him into a blizzard, tempest, inferno). When revived, the aura was gone. Needs a better solution.

My mage had the DLC blood power persist as well. The one that damages your enemy but hurts you too or somesuch. I didn't notice if I was actually taking damage though, but from that point on I shy away from using the active powers.

I had the same problem with a staying "aura of weakness"-debuff.
I could remove it by opening a shop. (tried with two shopkeepers in denerim, zoning did not remove the debuff)
Hope this helps you too

this thread came up through me googling for a "solution" to this bug... seems that after a (long) while it just went away with zoning in/out a few times... it's just pretty annoying in the meantime. I caught my debuff from the Denerim revenant. Has this happened from other revenants?

I seem to have this issue also. Got it from a Revenant fight and it has persisted through more than a half dozen scene transitions, and a countless number of camp visits. Dispelling by either Wynne or Alistair do nothing. This is really annoying. Is there some console command or script I can use to fix this?

Aura of Weekends? I love that spell! As long as it's active, I don't need to go to work or college!Nedumaran wrote...

I have the same problem , a permanent aura of weakness after leaving the fade in the circle of mages quest .I'll try dying or shopping to see if that helps .

Just kill yourself. It sucks if you like to do solo but you'd have to add another party member. Yeah, i just got it and search google all over and the only way to fix the glitch is kill your affected character.

just got this debuff bug for the first time. got it from revenant in denerim. I was able to get rid of it by opening up a shop with bodahn.

I've had glitches like this before. Normally I make a new save and then reload said new save and it goes away. Shapeshifting is especially bad for this as I tend to either keep in the Spider form but use my Human action bars, or I'm human but have web and venom bars.

This bug is STILL not fixed. I have all DLC installed.
Leliana got the "Aura of Weakness" after we killed the first Revenant in the Werewolf temple, near the room with all the pressure-plate traps.

In the Fade its when Sloth turns into his Gazareth form that he sends out an Aura of Weakness.
