Feel is the right word.Because the "sequel" dont even display stats anymore. Not even as bars as some recent shooters do.

What?

I am referring to the ME1 inventory, which was essentially broken due to the items it was carrying:

-6 different models at best
-All weapons feel and sound the same
-No weapon has drawbacks, as the superior weapon is clearly visible due to it's ATK stat. A weapon with a better ATK stat also has a better ACC, etc. stat.
- I to X versions

It would create no difference whatsoever for BioWare to restrict all of ME1's weapons to 5 which progress statistically after every mission.

Ok that was harsh but some of these people are bat**** crazy

I know and I agree, but Jesus, there is simply no way in hell anyone could ever be worse than the NMA folk.

I'm almost afraid to ask, but...who?

This again? Descriptions present a suggested playstyle, as well as the pros and cons of every weapon. We have been through this for several pages.

You are right, Something With Mass is wrong.

He didn't give you ONE definition of inventory.

He gave you FOUR. The entire dictionary's entry.

Yes, and it could have easily been fixed, instead of scrapped. I'm talking space. If I find a better weapon on a mission and don't have enough space, I'll have to drop something to pick it up, Deus Ex style.

NMA - No Mutants Allowed. It's a fansite for the Fallout games. For the record, if you go there and say that you like Fallout 3 over Fallout 1&2, they will lynch you. They are absolutely insane.

Not sure what their stand on F:NV is. I went there once and never went back.

That's all from the same source and just for the word "inventory." Not RPG inventory.

Since the conversation has moved to discussing the weapons and inventory in ME1 and ME2 here is my limited thoughts on the subject.

ME1 and ME2 weapons to me are fairly close in how they function a base weapon isn't really any different then a weapon in ME2. What made the weapons in ME1 better was the fact you could customize them and make them suit your needs better anytime in the game.

I am currently playing through a new game in ME1 and really I have only changed my weapons four times on Shepard the first two were from random upgrades in the game, one drop and one from a merchant, after that I just upgraded to the Master VII and then the Master X. Now armor is a little different, for I carry two spare sets depending on the situation, I have Explorer X for when I am in a hazardous environment and Phoenix X for when I need the extra health regeneration.

To me there really isn't that much difference in the inventories in ME1 and ME2, except the fact you collect a lot of the same item to sell in ME1 and the trade-off to that is you hope to get the item you want to drop which could be either frustrating for some people or feel like a forced replay.

What we have been trying to tell you is that doesn't fix the issue at all. You want to have weapons that feel differently and are statistically not absolutely better than a previous weapon? Do what ME2 did.

Want to have the inventory available at all times during that? Impossible. It defeats the point.
You can quickly switch to the weapon that has the characteristics that you prefer. And that cancels the advantages of having different weapon types.

I don't know about you, but I don't like sorting out hundreds of useless items in some inventory after every single fight or the second I receive new items. It's just busy work that serves no practical use when the alternative that ME2 is using and ME3 will use makes it so much smoother.

Have you played ME2? For all I know my Shep and his/her pals have to drop weapons while picking up new ones. When you find the Viper, you have to drop the Mantis/Incisor - you can't carry both.

Combine that with the stats on the Wiki. Even if the Collector ship weapons have some drawbacks to their predecessors.

Because an RPG's inventory is so different. Especially when you're sorting out all the items--Oh. Right...

No, you had to use a weapons locker, in a building site no less.

I still don't see the point in this discussion. Does a copy/paste inventory make a better game, or does carrying the good functions of an inventory and adding some more?

Not to mention the micro-fabricators they have on the ship that can replicate any item as long as it's scanned, which makes the need for a field inventory to store everything in useless.

You mean the weapon locker one feet from the place you find the new weapon?

Can you explain how this is different compared to the Deus Es style?

Wait. I thought that you had to change weapons everytime you discovered a new one? Like, instantly?

"Ad hominem" does not mean "someone called me a name".  Now, if SWM had said "You're a ****ing twerp, therefore you are wrong", that would be an ad hominem.  As it stands, you were simply insulted.  Also, by saying "more than one type" I hope you realize that you've just tacitly conceded that what we have in ME2 is in fact one type of inventory.

As for BioWare naming ME2 an RPG while others disagree? Pokemon is also an RPG. So what? BioWare has explained what is important for them in RPGs.

Pokèmon is a JRPG by any means. It's basically the same for years. Though I don't play it since Silver, I never read in any forum that someone said that it's not a JRPG.
About the ME1-ME2 inventory and weapons, I found both of them imperfect, but I'm fine with both of them, and never had a problem with both of them. In ME3 we'll have mods (which change both stats and appareance) and probably more weapons. If we'll have at least 6-7 weapons for every type, I'll be happy.
