well this is disappointing to me i just spent a lot of money on all the pre-order codes on ebay and i wont receive my Collectors Edition till December

Doesn't look like anyone on the PC has access to this item yet guys. If you go to your social network site (Profile -> Your Registered Game Promotions) you should see something listed as;



UNRECOGNIZED ITEM

An unknown promotional item has been found. Unrecognized items will still be available and recognized by the system and game they are intended for.



Just as Destalen wrote up above. I would have to assume this is The Edge, have some patience it will show up at some point.

I registered my copy for the 360 and this mysterious "Unrecognized Item" showed up in the list of PC unlocks, but not the XBox. Looks like they're still working out the kinks with the whole thing.

I bought the collector's edition and I have not recieved any free promotional code for the edge, but I certainly hope I will. In fact I'd be disappointed if I didn't get it.

I don't think anyone actually gets the code. But they just add it, I think.
At least I didn't get a code, but do have the UNRECOGNIZED ITEM in my list.

I've had the "UNRECOGNIZED ITEM" since last week (like all of us, I think), and before that, just an empty box, so I don't know if The Edge is this unrecognized item or not.

But I swear to god these promotions wheer they give different items depending on where you bought it nearly made me not to buy the game at all. I want to get all items there are for the game, not be left out because I bought it somewhere else. I didn't pre-order because of this, but eventually bought it anyway. I never did buy Dawn of War 2 for this reason. It just doesn't sit well with me.

The offer is for new buyers. We got the pre-order stuff.

They probably mass e-mailed everyone who signed up for the newsletter on the original site.

Well, they need to hurry up with such stuff, before the modders manage to break away from the game and start to get a knack for the toolset and addin-handling. Items like this will be among the first toolset-made mods.

The Edge is not new. It was just like all the other promotional items when the game was released. If you look at this thread, at the end of the first post, you can see all the promo items from when the game came out and The Edge is listed and downloadable there:

hmm i've registered the game (360) have never had any problems with previous dlc whatso ever but i've go UNRECOGNIZED ITEM under pc not 360.

OK, the way I read this, EVERYONE who Buys/Bought this game prior to Nov 30th will receive the new DLC called, "The Edge"!



This is the email:

"Those who purchase Dragon Age™: Origins before November 30th will automatically receive the in-game item, “The Edge”. The Edge is an extremely sharp blade that is the pinnacle of Ferelden crafting. It adds bonuses to damage, attack, and critical strike chance."



Does anyone not agree with that thought process? Here is the key wording, "...Those who purchase..."

i'm starting to get sick of these promotional stuff and DLC. It's like ripping us off.
