On the Steam DA:O forums, someone said The Lion's Paw works too; anyone want to confirm this?

Ummm, did you follow the instructions? Download the file, you are looking for "DAO_PRC_PROMO_EDG_1.0.dazip". Then fire up your DA Updater, I've got the steam copy so mine is located at "C:\\\\Program Files\\\\Steam\\\\steamapps\\\\common\\\\dragon age origins\\\\bin_ship\\\\daupdater.exe". Once you've got the updater up and running load the file containing The Edge into it, click install.
That's it. Fire up DA:O and you should see The Edge under Installed DLC, load up a saved game and you'll have the Edge of Knifey Knifeness in your inventory. Easy schmeezy.

So I'm trying to do this either way. Where should I be downloading the file to? The Addins folder or elsewhere, because nothing seems to be working for me.
Just download all the files listed.
Go to your main DA directory
Double click on the bin_ship folder
Double click daupdater
Drag all three files into the program, select them all, and update.

It means "preorder at any of the retailers listed below"
You can try to get the memory band (i.e. a useless ring and a skill tome) from the link on the top of page 3 and install it. If it says unauthorized your out of luck, otherwise have fun.
If you use a console version, well too bad, but you're out of luck.

How the hell do I get this item on Xbox? BioWare seems to not give a flying f*ck about the console users.

*To receive the item, users must login to social.bioware.com and register the game by entering their unique CD key (PC) or UPC code (Xbox 360®/PLAYSTATION®3) before November 30, 2009. Then use the same login information within the game and the item will appear on the in-game Downloadable Content screen ready to download. **This applies to all accounts created before November 30, 2009.**
dont see it though.

No PC user has gotten it officially so far, we just tried our luck with the links provided to solve problems with the ingame DLC downloader...
By buying the game for a console you already said that you don't give a flying f*ck on extra content and are content with whatever EA/Bioware deem fit for you to have.
Choices and Consequences...

Not really, we paid more.
Also, I acknowledged that we won't get user made content(hence you won't see me complaining about it), but official content being unavailable, and getting terrible service is bad(Bugged DLC achievements etc).

You paid more because Microsoft wants a share and extra effort was neccessary to make the game playable on console.
The dagger, ring and amulet are currently *not* offically available to anyone. I guess those three are leftover promo items for which they found no vendor willing to pay for exclusive rights.
Those who order today will not get the Memory Band, Feral Wolf Charm, Guildmaster's Belt, Band of Fire, Lion's Paws and Dalish Promise Ring, no matter whether they play on PC or console. If they order at the EA store now, they get that overpowered dagger instead.

Console users pay more because of rampant piracy on the PC pushing down game prices. End of story.
