I hope thats the case. I got the email. My account is updated with my registration. But I don't have any indication that I'll receive it, nor is my ingame downloaded content showing any new items. SO, I am thinking it'll be out later for most of us...?

*If* they give it to us it would be a nice gesture, as they have nothing to gain by giving promo items to those who already bought the game. So be nice to EA and Bioware and it may pay off.



Still, if extra items are so important for you, consider to buy the PC version the next time.

Hmm… Not to be too much of a tool, I’d be surprised if any of us pre-order folks automatically qualified to receive The Edge. We did, after all, agree to an Edge-less pre-order promotion. Conversely, those who qualify for the current Edge offer shouldn’t expect to receive any pre-order benefits.



But I sincerely hope I’m wrong; I could use the Edge.

No, I didn't get an e-mail.  I think you only get the e-mail if you subscribe to their newsletter.  Even then, I think a lot of people haven't received it.

I'm signed up to the newsletter and haven't received any e-mail about this.  Maybe it's just taking them some time to get it out to everyone like some others have suggested?  First I heard about this was this topic.

Go get them while they're hot.

Search for daupdater.exe in Program files.../Dragon Age/bin_ship and start it.
Drag the dazip files into the daupdater-window and install them.

A bit off-topic, I was wondering one thing, though: I noticed some things under my Installed tab in the Downloadable Content section in-game are highlighted green and some things aren't. What's the difference?

The others are supposedly promo items for which no vendor paid to have exclusive rights,
There is no point anymore in keeping them from the PC users as we can just as well make our own:

It is only my guess that they have yet to start the distribution of this item, I don't know if EA have or have not started to disbribute this item out to us. I'm not even sure if they have it in their plans to do so in the future.
Unlikely, but maybe there was a bug when the item was distributed to our accounts and they don't even know about it.

When I called EA, the customer representative did not even know what "The Edge" was at first, I had to explain it to him and he had to ask his supervisor to confirm. He didn't mention anything about when the item will be implemented and even if I would've asked him, I don't think he would've had an answer for me.

One thing is obvious, they have the item implemented already, they already made an icon/description for it on this site and it does carry over to in-game without a problem. So... My guess was that, since nobody has it yet and when I called they had to manually implement it for me, it's just not distributed to the players yet.

Yeah, you are right; it sounds like they didn't implement it yet.  I wish though that someone from Bioware or EA would post on the subject so that people know how this offer is actually supposed to work.

I messaged chris yesterday pointing out this thread and asking if the fact pc players have access to, what seems to be, all promo items and console players do not, is intended or not.

It wasn't a 'geif me items now' message, it was intended as a respectful inquiry into the issue, with the request for a offical reply on the matter. No reply as of yet but i would imagine he's a rather busy person so here's hoping we hear something in the future.
But i'd encourage other console players to send messages to the other mods as well in the hope that the issue comes to their attention all the sooner.

This may be because even when games aren't simplified to fit to console controls we have to wait for half a year after the game is finished, so that the console owners won't complain that they have to wait.

Buying a game is like playing a good RPG: Choices and Consequences.

You play the game on a cheap, long-lived, low-maintenance system with easy-to-use controls and living-room compatible hardware. In return you're at the mercy of your console's manufacturer and the producer of the game when it comes up to updating the game or adding extras to it.

Out of curiosity, if you cannot drag the items to the daupdater (and perhaps this is a Vista issue? I'm still new to it) then what do you do?

The only way I was able to implement the camp storage chest was by utilizing the Select DAZIPs button on the updater. For these items, however, they are simply not available to select no matter how many times save and check to ensure I am searching in the proper place.

That was what I was attempting to do, but it either A.) will not be able to locate the files (cannot imagine why, I saved them to my desktop just as I did with the camp storage chest) or B.) it will locate them, but forces me to open the folders in order such as Content - Data - etc., until it says there is nothing valid to select basically.

So, I am at a loss.

1.)this is not really a new item several retailers gave out for pc preorder

2.)not that great a weapon

3.)either they will give to everyone with a registered game on the 30 or not at all so just wait a week to see

4.)im guessing they wont as it seems more of an you didnt preorder so you wont get all the preorder stuff but go now and get something rather than later and get nothing ---> buy da now dont wait
