edge overpowered, personally i think it is some way short of 'Dead Thaig Shanker' dagger : Req: 26 Dex, Dam: 6, Crit ch: 4.5%, AP 7, +5 cunning, +0.5 AP, +6Att, interupts spell casting, and still has two slots.



Still thx to those that posted how to get all the rest of the promo stuff:) have a nice fully fitted out rogue grp now:)

Partly because all these "dazip" files aren't even dazip at all.  All they are are different files that are "suppose" to go in the addins folder, but even that doesn't work.

So people are skipping vital steps somewhere, and are refusing to tell people them.

It will still try to save it as a zip file, but you just change the name DAO_PRC_PROMO_EDG_1.0.zip to DAO_PRC_PROMO_EDG_1.0.dazip

Item if it is released for all not just new buyers will probably go to everyone registered at midnight on the 30th

As for the no effect on content ... it dosnt this is simply the easiest way to see who has game and who dosnt otherwise they would have to have every seller send to everyone whos bought it which if they give it to those who already have game would be a nightmare

Odd, I downloaded a DAO_PRC_PROMO_EDG yesterday in the ingame downloader. It had no description or picture of what that item was and when I checked the installed list when the download was completed I saw nothing new from my other promo downloads. Did anyone else get this as well?

Regarding the "UNRECOGNIZED ITEM" in Your registered game promotions section:

Apparently it's "a backend entitlement having to do with the character creator - it will be hidden in a near-future build of the site." It's not The Edge or any other promo item, hopefully this will end all the speculation as to what the Unrecognized Item is!

Regarding the list of items that J.O.G posted the other day... They all worked fine for me, but I would like to know if its against the "rules" or whatever to install them if you didn't pre-order.

When that is even a question then don't install it. I'd say the situation is the same as in a trade fair - many people go there only to collect giveaways. While the behavior may be morally questionable, it is still acceptable and completely legal. There would be means to hold off the locusts, after all.

Four of the items can be gotten by uploading a character here and playing DA:O Journeys. Apparently, The Edge will be officially available after the 30th anyway. (see here)

Personally, I think less is more, and would have prefered the items to be put into a merchant's inventory. I just started a new game with only Shale, Warden's Keep,  the Memory Ring and the Wicked Oath. Makes you appreciate the ingame items much more when you don't start with much better stuff.

I may add the Lion's paws (actually got them from Amazon) and The Edge later, but I might also make a mod that adds the items or similar ones to a merchant.

Bah, more items for buying the game. It's breaking the 4th wall. In a BAD way. Why don't they make it like in the collector's edition of Baldur's Gate 2? Add a merchant who can sell you the add-on stuff instead of just teleporting it into your pack after download.

The Edge item will appear for you to download shortly after the 30th. Starting end of day on the 30th we'll be going through all accounts that have registered the game (any platform) and enabling the item for you.







We'll also be sure to post here and update you once the item is available so you know when to expect it waiting next time you log in to the game.





Thats from someone from Bioware on another Topic, i guess it should appear after the 30th, so why are some people claiming they have it now? even for PS3:P

For those that have qualms about pilfering the DLCs from Bioware's servers, or those that simply don't want the items for free at the start of the game, I made a little mod:
DLC Merchandise

It adds replicas of the DLC items to Bodahn's shop, where you can buy them at a special discount.

So, I registered the game a few minutes ago (I bought is shortly after release) and I cannot see "The Edge" anywhere in the DLC interface OR the XBOX Live Marketplace. Can someone OFFICIALLY tell us what we are suppose to expect exactly and when?

If I worked for Bioware I would strongly suggest something like what you have done J.O.G. to be implemented within any RPG's put out on the market in the future. Pre-Order giving the item to those that purchased in that manner, and thus giving it to them at the start.  So that others can still experience the items without feeling as though they are totally missing out, or that they maybe doing something wrong when they see unofficial means of acquisition; always include something like what you have created. After completing the game or maybe after reaching a certain number of achievements to unlock full dlc items; either is fine. The Pre-orders get it easy to be fair to the deal or promo they are jumping on, and others get it by means of playing through to the end game or some sort of strong achievments. Just an idea I wanted to throw out, and I think its fair. What do yall think of this idea?

I ordered before Nov 30, but my order from EA didn't arrive until Nov 30 so I haven't gotten it. Kinda got hosed there.

The only way I was able to implement the camp storage chest was by utilizing the Select DAZIPs button on the updater. For these items, however, they are simply not available to select no matter how many times save and check to ensure I am searching in the proper place.

In the daupdater just hit 'select dazips' button at the bottom, navigate to wheverever you saved the dazips and just select them from there ?

1.  DL files from "OGLSMM's" message list (No Name Change).  Didn't Work!
2.  DL files from "OGLSMM's" message list (Changed name by adding ".dazip" at end).  Didn't Work!
3.  DL files from "J.O.G" message list (No Name Change).  Didn't Work!
4.  DL files from "J.O.G's" message list (Changed name by adding ".dazip" at end).  Didn't Work!
5.  Tried all of the above by way of "Drag and Drop".  Can you Guess, oh heck, it didn't work!
6.  Tried all of the above by way of Tabed button "Select DAZIP's".  Can you Guess, oh heck, it didn't work!

So as you can see, I am at a TOTAl Loss of what to do next.  Can someone PLEASE show me the path of success, PLEASE,heck I'll even put sugar on top (LOL).........................................

my bet is that it will take a few days to enable it for everyone that registered, that is a lot of accounts to go through to check for a registered copy of the game then enabling the edge for download.

So you imply that they do that by hand? That would be a little tricky. I certainly think they do that with database-wide instructions.



btw, The Edge doesn't show up on my account either.
