I am going with a female human noble warrior, Leliana, Morrigan and Whynn. Without spoiling too much, is there anything I should be aware of? I know that I have to support the witches of the wild to get Morrigan. What about Lel and Whynn? Is there any problem with Whynn joining if I go for Human Noble?

I don't think there is anything based on your origin that will limit the companions you can get. It would be very unproductive to spend insane amount of work and voice acting on something that entire origins just won't get :)

That said, I just noticed that there is actually not a single one woman warrior nor any male mage as companions.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I'd rather more mage selections for companions actually since there are so many delicious looking spells in the game.

SPOILER!

For the quest involving the sacred ashes: if you choose to destroy the ashes you lose both Leliana and Wynne.. Just so you know

And also you have to consider that Wynne and Morrigan are almost directly opposed in their worldview. It will be very difficult to try to keep both of them happy at the same time.

I'm pretty sure that Bioware, as usual, has, unless required by plot, a 3 way dialog setting and that you will be able to stay overall neutral so that no relationship will be very high but none will result in any crisis either.

The ash thing as Chuzza described is obviously, even without knowing the whole context, gonna go bad with "tradition" oriented companions.

Alright, thanks for the advice Chuzza, Witt and Kemor. I agree with you Kemor, so long as I don't do something drassically opposed by my characters I should be fine, though I will only be able to keep either Wynne or Morrigan happy. Kinda like trying to keep Edwin from sulking too much with goody-goody party in BG2.

All-female parties kick butt!

My guess is that Wynne and Leliana will probably agree on many things and should be easy to keep happy at the same time. Keep them content and feed Morrigan a lot of gifts and it may work. Or try to stay lukewarm with them all, though that'd be the less satisfying option for me, personally.

I'll probably be keeping Morrigan happy since she seems the more interesting companion to be attempt to be friends with. Hopefully saying generic stuff like "I hate the blight" and "you shouldn't kill that cat" is sufficient to keep the other two happy.

You can bet that at some point Wynne or Morrigan will leave the group or even attack you, since they are like fire and water in that regard. So I really doubt you could do a full all-female run.

I'm worried about all the in-fighting in my all-chick party. I think I might just declare Dog as female and go with that. Heh.

But than dog becomes a **** ( dog of the female peruasion), and the ****ing (arguing) in the party would actually increase.

Don't bring Morrigan along when you go to recruit Wynne. I understand this can result in a battle between the two.

My guess: Leliana and Wynne will get along splendidly. Leliana and Morrigan will tolerate each other for your benefit. Wynne and Morrigan will not get along due to ideological differences. If your charismatic enough, maybe you can convince them to put their differences aside?

Male dogs and other male animals are awesome enough to be honorary females. :D

Dude, first of all I have to say Sir Ulrich Von Lichtenshtein is awesome.  Great movie great actor.

Yes, odd no male mages and female warriors. but hey, I'll live.

Indeed. I was going for an all female party as well.

Of course, given that there are only two mages and they're both female, and that I want to play a female, it's fairly easy to do.

2 Mages... 2 Rouges and 5 freaking Melee types.... thats bad balancing.. you basically have to run with Wynne unless you play a healer yourself I guess.

Georg once said that they expected most people to have two warriors in their party, one rogue, and a mage.

I say go for dog, or pretend one of the warrior guys is transgender.

I am sure on one playing I'd go all girl, seems like there could be some hilarious dialogue, I bet they talk trash about he men behinds their backs.

I read somewhere that the Chinese symbol for discord is the symbol for women twice inside the symbol for house.

I really hope so. In BG2, I setup a party with Viconia and Keldorn till the end game. Needless to say, I had to watch my party from idling too much or those two would literally go at each others throats. I really hope that companions don't fight each other in this game, but bicker or annoy each other and maybe mess up a few quests but not to the extreme.

Slight spoiler...

A dev referred to Shale as a she.
