I'm thinking of starting a new game of BG2 using SK to create a multi class character with a kit. You begin the game around level 8. If I started a multi class character and then changed one of the classes to a kit, would the game automatically level me up correctly in the new kit? Or would I have to use SK to level myself back to level 1 and then level myself back up?

You should change your level to Zero. Unfortunately, that means that you get several bonuses twice (and you can't change your HP to 0), so you'll have to do this in multiple steps.
An alternative might be the Lvl1NPCs mod.

No but the game would level you up correctly after the change. I would make a single class character of the kit class eg. Bounty hunter then add the multi onto that... Its hard to give exact advice without knowing exactly what race/ class you want to end up as.

See I'm not really sure yet. I'm just brainstorming right now so I should probably just go with something more legit. I was just curious as to how you would go about doing it if I chose to go that route. So for example if I wanted to go with a multi class fighter/assassin, I should start with a single class assassin and then add the fighter on top of that?

A couple of other posts I've read suggested making a fighter/thief and then use SK to change the kit to assassin and then adjust THACO to 20, HP to 1, Base AC to 10, Experience to 0, and then set levels to 0. What about proficiences and thieving points and saving throws. I guess if I'm going to cheat, I wanted to do it as fairly as possible:D

Just use http://www.shsforums...-experimental/. It's blatant cheating, but hey!:P

@H_T: Are you referring to the "Add kits to exported character" component?

Not sure if I'm going to or not. I'm getting ready to finish the ToB with the new assassin from rogue rebalancing mod and it's been a great run. I've enjoyed this tweeked assassin very much. Now I want to try something totally different. Honestly the only character I've ever used were thieves so I definitely want to try something new. Maybe doing something on the opposite end of the spectrum would be better like just a plain ol' sorcerer.
