Gonna be honest here. Not excited at all about this Vega fellow. I dont really see the point to having him when there are so many existing characters that could have been full time squad members.

Nah, I doubt Wrex will be involved. As we've seen in the E3 demo, he isn't quite helping.
Still, Grunt could be of use, since we have really important missions going on in Krogan DMZ.

I'd say the same, but I'm gonna wait until we get some actual footage of him before passing any judgement. We as of right now know nothing about him other then hes human and may or may not be the gay romance for Sheploo.

As of now I dont like the fact we have to deal with (sigh) either Ashley or Kaiden (they both are just awful characters). So hopefully Vega turns out to be a solid character.

We'll have our krogan. I bet the squadmates will cycle in and out; Grunt may be on Tuchanka for the first half the game, then join Shepard when his business is done.

At least I hope so. Vega seems cool and all, but I don't think he'll take kindly to headbutting.

Liara and Garrus are awesome though.

This, Virmire wasn't much of a choice and had very impact for me, the characters were both so bad.  Everything that they introduce and develop with Vega takes away from the other established characters that we already care about.  I mean if Vega has a well developed interesting character like Joker then it won't be so bad.  But another VS is not needed.

While Wrex might be off doing big important things, I could easily see Grunt returning, given that his biggest desire is to kill things.

What do we know about Vega though? I think people are condemning him based on little knowledge. I would be a bit miffed if we didn't see at least a few of the better ME2 squad members back, but give this guy a chance, he could turn out to play a role in the story that none of the existing characters could.

Pretty sure we'll get Grunt. For the missions involving the Krogan/Genophage, at least. He's Urdnot, and has already demonstrated his ability as a fighter. Makes sense that he'd be involved in the clan's high risk missions. Which, more likely than not, Shepard will tag along for.

Less sure about Wrex. We'll see what happens.

I'm guessing that Grunt will be a primary squad member. Shepard is his battlemaster, and he's not really experienced enough to act as a leader among clan Urdnot. I'm sure he has the tactics programed into his head, but there's more to leading than tactics.

I'm betting that Wrex will be a temporary squadmate, at best. He is the leader of Urdnot, and possibly a united Krogan. He's probably too busy to participate in combat missions all the time.

At the very least Wrex/Wreav will be a temporary character. At most we'll get Wrex and Grunt both on the squad. But I expect to see Wrex as a permanent teammate later in the game.

Wrex/Wreav is 100 percent in the game. The E3 demo proves it when Wrex tells you "heads up Shepard, you got incoming". I assume Wreav takes his slot if Wrex is dead from ME1.

As far as KNOWN group members. We have:
1) Ash - Soldier OR Kaiden - Biotic
2) Vega - Soldier
3) Garrus - Soldier
4) Liara - Biotoc
5) Tali - Tech

Bio claims we won't have that big of a crew to choose from so I wouldnt be surprised if that is the final full time list. If that is the case, Garrus/Liara will, most likely, be my full time team since, on insane, diversity is pretty important on your first play through.

I have no problem giving Vega a "chance" as some people are whining about. However, it's just stupid not to have a full time Krogan team member in my opinion. Would much rather see Grunt/Wrex then....barf....Kaiden/Ashley

As for the characters specialties it's more
1) Ash - Soldier OR Kaiden - Biotic/Tech
2) Vega - Soldier
3) Garrus - Soldier/Tech
4) Liara - Biotoc
5) Tali - Tech

Additionally Liara was part tech in ME1 but that seemed to get dropped in ME2.

Yeah? And this proves I didnt give Vega a "chance" how? I have no problem, what-so-ever, giving the character a chance. In fact, I am excited to learn a new story arc. However, we have had a Krogan team member for the past two games and not having one in the finale, when the entire galaxy is at war seems like a waste to me.

I think Grunt will still return regardless of Vega possibly fulfilling a similiar role. Bioware needs to consider that Grunt may have died and needs to at least give you a core team that can cover the bases needed.
