I just finished the Mage Tower in the game and got Wynne into my group.

I went back to camp and talked to her about her past. I got the random encounter called Hillside Path where she collapses at the end. Before going back to camp, I stopped at Denerim to turn in some quests I completed for the Blackstone Irregulars and the Mages Collective.

After leaving Denerim, I got the cutscene of where the Warden and Alistair have a dream about the Archdemon again and then get attacked at camp. I tried talking to Wynne after that and there's no new dialogue chain. I even left the camp, completed a side quest in the Brecilian Forest and went back. Still no new dailogue chain to continue on with obtaining her quest.

I also bought some of the Festival pranks to lower her approval to 50% and see if that would unlock the options. Didn't work. I went back and bought the Amulet of Memories to bring her approval back up and still nothing.

Am I missing or didn't do something that is making me miss her dialogue for her quest? Does she need to be at 100% approval before I can get that part of the conversation with her?

She needs high approval, though not 100%. The wiki site mentions that Wynne may not offer her quest at 100%, though I've never tested myself.

I usually go to the circle tower right after Lothering, and I'll get enough approval from dialogue and regular gameplay to get enough for Wynne to speak of her regrets with no gifts needed. Just speak to her whenever you are at camp.

You have to get the second random encounter where your party get ambushed by darkspawns and Wynne "rescues" all of you. First then you can get the quest.

I think my game glitched out on me.

I had her at about 75-80% approval. I got the first random encounter with her and then she said she'd talk to me about it when they were back at camp. I went back to camp to talk to her after turning in a few side quests, but nothing happened and I don't have any new dialogue options for her.

I'll try reloading the game to a save before the encounter happens and then try going back to Party camp and see if that gets the quest to come up =/

I know this is an old thread..and it is in DA2 section..., but this is happening to me in my Dragon Age Origins. I still have not gotten the second random battle scene with Wynne. So it is probably a glitch.

I'll just travel around and see if I can get that scene to play.

yeah I think a lot of it is a bit randomised or hit and miss if you prefer in that sometimes you get these quests from companions other times you don't as I quite often have the same trouble with Leliana's quest with Marjolaine as well. By this I mean that sometimes you'll pick these quests up and other times you won't.

I finally got her quest. The random battle where she faints had not played yet. I got the battle.. and new dialogue to complete her regret quest.
