I killed the Brood Mother (Branka) got a cut-scene with Heskith, but no journal update. Is this right?

There is an exit after the broodmother room that will take you to the anvil of the void.



Prepare for another tough boss battle, though.

Branka is not the Broodmother. Branka is the lady warrior talking to you as you run up to the Broodmother, ...Branka continues to babble after you kill the Broodmother, so obviously they're not one and the same.

Hespith is the one eerily chanting all the way up to the broodmother. Branka is only seen in the anvil of the void area.

You know where the enemies spawn around it? Kill the enemies there, and then hit the glowing anvil that shows up next to each defeated enemy. Do this enough times and the face will be destroyed.

kill one of the spirits. then watch the anvils, one of them will start to glow. click the glowing one and it shoots a bolt of energy at the faces and deals 500 damage to it. you'll have to repeat this 6 or 7 times to finish the thing off.

There are four faces. Each face is in one of three states - two glowing eyes, bleeding eyes, or dead (inert). The face gizzmo sometimes rotates.

You damage the face using the glowing (paralyze animation - white rings ascending) anvil. If you use a glowing anvil on an intert face (due to rotation) you wasted your anvil.

The glowing eyes face will emit a lower-level spirit. The bleeding eyes face will emit a higher-level spirit. An inert face will not emit a spirit.

On a fresh (four glowing eyes faces) attempt, kill any lower-level spirit. Then use the anvil, which sends a blast to its face, turning it into a bleeding eye face. It may or may not rotate. It will suck in the remaining spirits and spew out a new set, including a higher-level spirit. Target that higher-level spirit and kill it, then use the anvil before the faces have a chance to rotate. You just killed one face.

I believe 8 spirits (four low-level and four high-level) is the minimum number to kill.
