Hurr hurr, I felt that way about Hawke's Mom, wasn't even upset when she... Ya' know.

So annoying. Especially when you realize how pampered she was. "MY children have had to WORK for a WHOLE YEAR."

It's like, mom, it isn't that bad.

Being sold into servitude ain't exactly like having a job with...an income.

Besides, she is angry about Gamlen pressing her for money.

I think it has more to do with the fact they are a) involved in possibly illegal business, B) essentially sworn to servitude, potentially against their will, and c) probably not even getting paid for it.

You have to admit, I reduced my negativity output significantly (and certainly didn't target or mock anyone besides Hawke).

You can bail a few cups of water out of an ocean, but it's still an ocean.

Well since my opinion of the game is mostly negative, of course I am going to be mostly negative about it.

As for here, well that's genuinely what my Hawke would say (minus the obviosu exaggeration) as that's the only way I could make sense of the game.

It was that or get eaten by/turned into an orc-zombie.

And there's also the fact that she was the one, with what's-her-face, complaining about my suggestion to go further inland instead of stay at Kirkwall.

Not to mention the people involved have no reason to honor their "one year only" side of the bargain.

It was a shady deal under the best of circumstances. That Hawke and Sibling got through it relatively unscathed is remarkable.

What?

Could be because I'm tired, but this didn't make a bit of sense to me.

Perhaps. But it's not like she was open to any other suggestions. The prologue kept renewing her vehement interest in getting into Kirkwall.

"I'm no Templar. I'm not sure every step leads me closer to the Maker. But I know trouble, and this is it. I can't say for certain that going in there is right, but I know it's needed right now. When home is on the line, maybe that's enough. You know what we face. The Mages in there, they have risked everything. All of us! That's not a danger I can ignore. You want peace in Kirkwall? This is where we create it!"

I actually like the speeches Hawke gives at the end of the game, that one in particular as it was what I got on my first Hawke and I felt it fit well with his character.

And he does it nicely and very eloquently too. I am glad he is here tirelessly reminding us. Just like I am happy for the people who tirelessly defend it. Otherwise thise would be a boring place, instead of silly, like Camelot.

I enjoy talks with some of the same people too.  I don't know why Persephone catches so much grief though.  I find her posts well written and substanative.

I know! I like Ms. P to pieces...wait, that sounded all serial killer. Sorry Ms. P, you know what I mean. There are many who catch grief around here. Why I don't know. I have a lot of fun hanging out with most everyone here. Such smart whitty people.

How nice it would be if there were actual, substansive discussions of topics based on relevant arguments instead of the ridiculous, dichotomous, partisan **** flinging contests that every thread about DA2 devolves into. Neither the people who tirelessly dump on DA2 nor the people who tirelessly defend it should have to exist, and it makes these boards worse, not better.

Never mind that I've been mocked/harassed constantly for not bashing DAII/Hawke/you name it. And my friends aside, most find that kind of behavior to be perfectly acceptable.

If it makes you feel any better Persephone, you're not the only one here that didn't... gasp... NOT hate DA2.  ;)

Anyhoo, my quote, hmmm....

"Quentin, quit monologuing and let Leandra turn around already, I figured out you FrankenMom-ed her about five minutes ago."

Also, after Meredith's demise:

"Why are you all looking at me like that?  I didn't do that!"

If all you want is substantive debate, join a science club. Or a debate club. Alas, there is substance and not substance on these threads. Why does it bother you so? Read them, or don't.

Now I do I like when it gets into personal attacks on any of you? No. That shouldn't happen.
