I've had this problem for awhile now, but I figured I'd try and solve it before I finish my fourth ME2 playthrough. The problem I'm having revolves around the mouth of my head morph:

Image IPB

The tongue is missing, and instead there is some kind of mesh inside the mouth that looks really unnatural. I've tested other custom headmorphs and all of them have this problem, but the default Shepard head morph does not. I'm running a Radeon HD 5770, and I've tried messing around with settings such as turning Catalyst AI off, but that had no effect. Any help would be appreciated.

System Specs:

XFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB (GPU Core OC to 900MHz, Memory Core OC to 1300MHz; Problem is present on default settings as well)
AMD Phenom II Unlocked x4 OC to 3.2GHz (Problem is present on default settings as well)
Corsair XMS2 4GB DDR2 RAM
Windows 7 32-bit

If you are morphing the head using gibbeds or other 3rd partysoftware after the head has been created, we cant help here, and can only direct you to the modding threads, as the modding community will be able to help more.
If its not an actual morph, and just a custom head, then disable your overclocking, and post full specs as per the read first thread.

Yeah I just used head morph to describe the custom head, as I'm not entirely familiar with all the terms.

Anyway, I disabled all the overclocks and like the last time I tried the problem was still present, and here are the full specs:

Operating System:     Windows 7 32-bit
CPU:     AMD Phenom II Unlocked x4 OC to 3.2GHz 715 (Originally x3 and 2.8GHz)
RAM:     4GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2
Video Card:     XFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 (11.6 Catalyst Driver)
Audio:     VIA High Definition Audio
DirectX:     DirectX 10 March 2009 (According to ME2's config utility. I currently have the latest DX11 package.)

The only thing that springs to mind at the moment is perhaps the revision of Catalyst driver you are running. Often the newer drivers have been tweaked to optiomise newer games, and older games such as ME/ME2 can experience glitches due to the tweaks. You could try rolling the driver back to a previous revision, and testing that out.
You could also post the face code for us to test out on another rig, but seeing as the fault occurs on all the custome heads you create, I have a feeling they will turn out fnie on other peoples machines. But still, no harm in trying.

This problem was also present in the last driver I had (10.3 I believe,) so I know that isn't it. I couldn't figure out how to grab the face code from one of my existing saves, so here is a new face code that has the same features as the current Shepard I'm using (And also has the problem):

Just tried it out for myself. Interesting as depending on the camera angle was wether or not he had a bottom row of teeth, or his mouth was just an empty black cavern. I cant recall any of the faces I made in the past doing anything like it. Will fire some of them up and test them out.

If something similar is happening for you then it might just be a bug with the way the face was made.

I'll have to test the other face presets to see if any of them will work properly with the features on my Shepard.

I just tested it with an entirely different face preset and the problem was still present. This problem is really strange.

EDIT: I think tomorrow I'll install ME2 on another pc and see if it happens on my other one as well.

One thread about the same thing is all that is EVER needed, no matter whether anyone had any answer to the first one or not.

Well I'm bumping this in case anyone else had this problem (Which I doubt,) because I found the solution.

Tonight I decided to change the hair style, and for some bizzare reason the problem disappeared.

I'm going to miss my favorite hairstyle, but at least my Shepard doesn't look like he has something stuck inside his mouth anymore:

Ok, that is a totally unexpected fix. It certainly got a chuckle out of me. Who would have thought something that simple would cause that sort of problem.
Nice find. Well done.

Yeah, I really don't understand why the hair was causing that problem. Eventually I'll test every face preset to see if the original hairstyle does the same thing to all of them (As in when I feel like watching the intro over and over and over again.)

Edit:

Just used the Gibbed save editor to put the old hairstyle back in and the bug didn't come up again, so right now I'm at a loss for what the problem was.

First 2 posts in this thread tell you how to skip over the intro so its no longer a tedious affair.

In order to do this, you will need notepad++ and the me2inifixer, available from here.
