So, I have yet to buy a single DLC and I wanted to know which one(s) are either irrelevant and/or are a waste of money. The only ones  I planned on buying are the Arrival and Lair of the Shadow Broker. Or should I just go all out and buy 'em all(not including the alternate appearance packs and guns)? The Overlord DLC looked kind of dull and is the one I have the most doubts about. I'm really stingy when it comes to DLC.

In my personal order from best to worst:
1.) Lair of the Shadow Broker
2.) Kasumi: Stolen Memory
3.) Overlord
4.) Arrival

Overlord and Arrival are very close, but I'm NOT saying Arrival sucks. All of the DLC missions are excellent, but some are better than others. I say buy them all for the full experience. If you're stingy, go with the list.

I hope this helps! Posted Image

I basically agree with Mwames above. Also note that LOTSB and Arrival are considered canon, so for all intents and purposes they are assumed to have happened regardless of whether you actually did them in your game.

My 2 cents:
-Alternate Appearance packs: no value. Unless you really want Jack to wear a shirt, or something.
-Firepower, Aegis, Equalizer packs: no value. A new gun to shoot with. Woo. Excitement!
-Kasumi: Meh. I liked the character, but I can't really say the mission in it was good. Get it if Kasumi sounds interesting to you. Otherwise skip it.
-Overlord: Fairly decent. It's nothing but shooting at stuff. But it's a well designed shooting romp. Get it if you like ME2's combat gameplay and want more.
-Shadow Broker: It's main draw is Liara. If you have no interest in the character of Liara, then it still has a couple of decent combat sections. When it comes to combat gameplay I didn't find it to be as good as Overlord, but it has it's moments.
-Arrival: It's the DLC that sets up the intro for ME3. Get it only if you want it for that reason. I can't reccommend on it's own merrit.

Shadow Broker
Arrival
Overlord
Kasumi

Kasumi amounts to ONE mission where as Overlord, Arrival and Shadow Broker are several missions packed into one. The only reason I see for getting Kasumi is for the locust SMG, which is really nice.

I guess its a matter of personal taste...but I hated Overlord. It was so boring. The fights in Shadow Broker are at least interesting, overlord offers practically nothing new. Just horde's of fodder mob after fodder mob.

I enjoyed the mission because a good chunk of it doesn't involve combat. I like it when they mix things up a little. Plus Kasumi is a pretty good character.

I found Overlord to be boring at times, but the story isn't too shabby. At least at the finale...

-Shadow Broker: When it comes to combat gameplay it isn't as decent as Overlord, but it has it's moments. It's main draw is Liara. If you have no interest in the character of Liara, then it still has a couple of decent combat sections.

I liked it because of the nostalgia factor. I'm not the biggest Liara fan, but it really reminded me that Mass Effect is a trilogy. Not only is there good stuff coming (ME3), but we already have two amazing games that actually play off each other. LotSB brought me back to ME1.

LotSB experience really depends on what you think about Liara. So my two cents:

- Overlord: great in creating atmosphere, great ending. Bad Hammerhead parts. 8.5/10

- Kasumi: stolen memory. New character, new weapon, badass cutscenes, optimal mix of wandering around making quests and fight. Kasumi is arguably the funniest character of series. 9.5/10

- Alternate appearance: depends on how much do you want to see Jack in shirt (and with idiotic glasses) and Miranda in proper armour (with annoying visor). 1/10 to 5/10

- Shadow Broker: failed plot twists, bizzare plot, not so good environment. Nice moments with something you'll get after completing it, very nice relationships with Liara. 4/10 for not fans of Liara, 8.5/10 for fans.

Arrival: if you hardcore fan, or just missed the fight only... 3/10

Lair of the Shadow Broker
Kasumi
Firepower Pack
Arrival
Overlord

I placed them in order of how much I think they contribute to the game. Yes, I do think the firepower pack contributes to the game by giving us nifty new guns that make the gameplay more enjoyable.

This! I was going to change Overlord and Arrival, but I agree they're super close. Different, but close.

I would get them all except for the ones that ONLY add guns or outfits. I'd get all the mission packs, but if I had to choose two, I'd say Arrival and Lair of the Shadow Broker so you can control their outcomes when it comes to ME 3

LotSB (especially if you think Liara is cool).

Then Stolen Memory.

Arrival because it leads to the ME3 crap.

True, Lair of the Shadow Broker has a LOT of "blue" in it, but I don't think it's just for Liara fans. I think it's for the fans of ME1 and the series as a whole. Especially during your conversation with Liara after the main mission. Being able to vent about stuff was pretty nice. :-)

**Spoilers(?)**
I don't think there really is an outcome to control in these ones. Both missions lead to certain endings that can't really be changed. Kasumi and Overlord. on the other hand, have different choices that can lead to different consequences.

I agree with others on LotSB, its good. Arrival would actually be second choice for me very closely followed by Kasumi. Overlord is decent although the gameplay is lowish quality after the first bit which is pretty good. It is quite atmospheric though and out of all the DLC has a choice that is most likely to effect ME3. The firepower pack is actually OK, three guns that change gameplay quite a bit throughout the entire game. Overall I give the ME2 DLC a big thumbs up.

Lair of the Shadow Broker it is a must.

It is the best Mass Effect related DLC from either game, IMO.

After that, I'd rank them in this order:

2. Overlord
3. Kasumi
4. Arrival

Even though I have Arrival as last, it isn't a bad DLC. The story is interesting and it is sort of a bridge between ME2 and ME3. As the title suggests, it deals with the imminent arrival of the Reapers. But the gameplay is nothing new and in the end, Shep's paragon or renegade choice for the mission don't really affect the big picture.

Atlernate appearance and weapon packs can be skipped, IMO.

The gun packs are actually really great as they are all quite useful weapons. Contrary to what people say they make each class more enjoyable.

The alternate appearance packs are of very little value, not really worth it unless you have the extra points or are very concerned with aesthetics.

Now for the game DLC best to last

Shadow Broker - For some reason the graphics seem way better as if this is how it might look for ME3. To me they seem phenomenal. You go through multiple stages fighting all types of enemies in all types of unsuspecting scenarios. Also the Shadow Brokers Lair is probably the most intriguing. There is tons of information to be learned. All of the battles are challenging. By far the best test of combat bosses.

Overlord- You make use of the fire walker more & there are multiple missions and very interesting intense scenarios in this mission. You will face not much enemy variety, but there is a lot of combat and a learning experience to it. It is a very ethics based story.

Kasumi Stolen Memories- This DLC is good because well you get a new character who has some good abilities. I personally like all here abilities as they are versatile and I find myself using her in quite a few missions. The gun you also get in that mission is a HUGE upgrade. The gun is better if not as good as most assault riffles. The gun makes it worth it. I recommend if you play anything other then solider this is something you'll want just for that gun. It will make the game experience much more refined & smooth.

Arrival- This seems pretty awesome and the outcome and such are pretty cool, but it is nothing shocking. The achievements are hard and that is about it. It isn't really exciting other then the very end. Pretty dull & just a transitional story for the next game.

Shadow Broker is a must as long as you don't really dislike Liara. Probably the best part of ME2.
9.5/10

Overlord has great atmosphere and some really great sequences. However, it also has some really bad sequences (Hammerhead). It doesn't really feel like it ties in with the rest of the game, but the great atmosphere compensates for that.
8/10

Kasumi is good, but it's just what you expect and nothing more. It's about the same amount of content as Zaeed. One new character, one new weapon, one new mission. If you're not that big of a fan, it's probably redundant.
6/10

Arrival is probably the worst. It ties into ME3, but it doesn't really feel that connected to the rest of ME2. It feels like it should be an important part of the story, but since it doesn't really connect to the rest of ME2, and at the same time being rather short, it just feels disappointing. It's not bad, but it could have been a lot better.
5/10

I use them, but if someone isn't going to do all the DLC I'd advise them to skip the weapons packs in favor of DLC that adds to the story, like LotSB or Overlord.

Well, with the way BioWare/MS Points work, you're likely to have some left over for at least a couple of the fluff packs regardless.
