If you didn't install the Zaeed DLC, will he appear in ME3?

The CG interview with Casey Hudson mentioned that Zaeed will return for ME3 in some capacity, although he didn't specify how or why.
But what if you never installed the Zaeed DLC?
In essence, this would mean you never met Zaeed and he was never part of the crew.
So how would that affect his appearance in ME3?
Would he just not know who you are, changing his cameo to a first meeting?
Or, because the game recognizes the lack of the Zaeed DLC, would it just "remove him" from the state of play?
Personally, I made sure to not install the Zaeed DLC, because I didn't want this character in my game.
So, I'm not going to be very happy if he's forced upon me without choice.
In that case, I'll go back to ME2, install the DLC and kill him off, then start a new ME3 playthrough with that savegame so he won't appear!

Everyone knows Zaeed saves the day. Everyone!
He's always the only one to walk out alive.

If you do his loyalty mission after the suicide mission and take the Paragon route then you can leave him behind so if you find he does automatically appear in ME3 when it's released you might still be able to kill him off post-game (assuming saves made after the suicide mission can be used).

Whether the same is true for all other DLC's? I think so, so he will either appear in ME3 or not at all (like Kasumi) regardless of whether you did or did not get the DLC.

Pffft. That's nothing.
One month, Jack had a "bad day". I was the only survivor.

He is quickly becoming one of my absolute favorite characters. If you take him on missions involving Blue Suns (recruiting Archangel), he has some hilarious lines. I take Zaeed and Jack out on missions quite a lot, as I think they're both hilarious.
As for ME3, I wouldn't dare speculate, but I HOPE he is in ME3, so he can be a goddamn hero.

Isn't Zaeed a free download? Why wouldn't you install it?

He reminds me of senechal Varel. That alone is reason enough to like Zaeed

He also knows the price of pain, having taken a round in the head and left for dead. From the looks of his scarred face, the recovery was a while in the making.
In the end you see that he just wants to retire *See Dossiers, LOTSB*. He just wants peace - the grizzled old war dog has had enough. He made his mark on the galaxy, made his cash, and just wants to chill out for the rest of his life. I can respect that.
He is also not a threat. He is not the one to try to take over Normandy, or even wrest control of the squad away. When you get into his story you see that he is a real trooper - a merc who has had a long and hard life. There is sadness and pain in his story - humanity, but he is not an evil person by any stretch.

Back on topic, why would you uninstall Zaeed Massani? first he's a space Arab-Turk-whatever,second he's a cool mercenary and third he's a badass guy.Even better than Kaidan.
That's enough for me to like Zaeed.

He's a mercenary and it has been shown he'll work for Cerberus. So if you pissed him off in ME2 or didn't recruit him at all I'm sure he'll happily take the Illusive Man's money in ME3 to hunt you down.
Zaeed for min-boss in ME3, woo!

I don't like Zaeed, but the VA did a good enough job to make me not like him. Same with TIM. Bad acting makes me go meh, good acting makes me either like or dislike.Roachbugg wrote...
i do not understand either Zaeed was a good character.
I don't like Zaeed's attitude during his LM. I usually play as a paragon and killing innocents isn't cool to my paragon Shep. Which is why he got punched in the face.
I am all for him coming back. Maybe I get to punch him again like we can with our favortie punching bag, al-Jilani.

If you didn't instal the DLC he probably wont appear or you will be introduced to him in 3 some way. I like Zaeed once I played him a bit. Good character. Well written and it's nice to have a squad member who's interchangeable with Garrus andThaneGrunt in terms of combat.
