I recently completed a study into the methods of the player to undermine the Chantry in preparation for Dragon Age II's storyline, to my knowledge very few of these decisions actually carry over to the new game. Still though, its pretty interesting that the player has the option of weakening the Chantry in the first game, which then breaks out into an all out war in the second game.

Oh and this interest also led to me documenting all the instances of prayers and blessings in Dragon Age: Origins for anyone playing religious characters.

http://dragonage.wik.../Chantry#Trivia - A strange fact of chantries, "Nearly all chantries can be destroyed or abandoned based on the players actions, those that cannot are destroyed or found abandoned as part of the storyline.".

http://dragonage.wik...tries_in_Thedas - See link in parenthesis for quest point resulting in chantry being destroyed or abandoned.

http://dragonage.wik...apels_in_Thedas - Blessings and prayers and where the player can participate in them. Also all major chantry buildings usually grant the option of receiving a blessing.

Well...just about EVERY location on the map can get horribly attacked by something or other, so it doesn't surprise me all chantries can get destroyed. Everything else gets destroyed too.

Highever: Howe
Circle Tower: (there's a chapel) Uldred
Lothering: Darkspawn
Redcliffe: Undead (if you abandon them)
Denerim: Darkspawn
Honnleath: Darkspawn
Dalish Camp: Werewolves (if you side with them)
Haven: PC
Soldier's Peak: Undead + Demons
Orzammar: Only city that doesn't get decimated. But yes, you can deny a Chantry being established.
Vigil's Keep: Darkspawn
Amaranthine: Darkspawn

PC doesn't really have to do much to see just about everywhere get demolished but sit back and watch the fireworks. IMO the only real 'blow' you can level at the Chantry is defiling the ashes. But since hardly anyone believes in them anyway, is it really that big of a deal to lose them? *shrug*

None of the general destruction available in Origins and Awakenings fits as well with DA2's main theme was my point. Its simply an interesting series of epilogues to acquire going into DA2, if you support the mages and the actions of Anders in the second game.
