Hello everyone, I haven't been here in a while. I just wanted to say that from what have been shown and said about ME3 it seems Bioware are doing the same thing again for the 1,000,000th time (social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/105/index/5335537). You start somewhere (Earth) that place gets destroyed or so and you rally people. The rest (pf the flowchart) is yet to be seen, but this has become very annoying, cheap, uninspired and it makes them seem as a one trick pony, sure there are other areas I am not so sure about, especially after ME2 and on, but this just popped in my head as I was rewatching some videos.

I am wondering What does everyone think of this happenening yet again?

Um...every bioware game pretty much follows this format? Seems to have worked well thus far.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

It's a good formula for storytelling, one that people tend to like.

Doesn't bother me none, The stories are good enough to stand on their own.

premise is irellevant, it's the story you tell within that premise that is important. ME2 proved that.

To be honest, the only part of their formula that really bothers me is that part where your character joins the ranks of a chosen or revered group, adding importance to your character that you don't earn. It's just kind of lazy.

Well they tried new thing with Dragon Age 2 and a lot of people hated it( not one of them).

So I guess that's why they will stick with same formula.

Anyone else see the irony in the OP linking to an old post of his to complain about repetition?

Haha, no one hated Dragon Age 2 based on the fact that they didn't use their forumula.

The lack of a proper journey is what kept it from coming close to the first for me.

Not broken, don't fix it. And Dragon Age 2 didn't suck because of the narrative. That's all I'm saying.

If you don't like it, don't play the game, simple. It was obvious when the Reapers arrive, the game would be like now (still in development).

Tell that to the DA2 dev team.

People also accuse Blizzard of being a one-trick pony.

I have one response, whether the criticism is directed at Blizzard or BioWare: I don't care. A good story is a good story.

Just because it's the same formula doesn't mean it'll be the exact same story.

I did so because
1. it includes the actual flowchart (pic)
                            and
2. is a part of the reason/point of me posting about it again, as i did mention that it's very annoying at this point (to me) and asked what does everyone else think of this.

I'd rather them use a winning formula than change it for the sake of being "different" or "unique." "Unique" does not mean "better."

ME has been about uniting the galaxy against the Reapers since the whole trilogy started. What did you expect ffs.

Why? The DA2 dev team didn't use that formula. Derp.

So you're saying you have a good reason for repeating yourself?  That it is an effective point that you feel accomplishes what your post sets out to describe?

Hmmm...
