I was playing the soldier class in Demo and the powers were just so slow, that was my gripe. For a class that was supposedly able to carry all weapons with no hassle the cool-down times were ridiculous.
Is soldier really useless in Mass Effect 3?

Soldiers seem to be the toughest of the tough and the most badass of all the badasses. Also, I'm going to equip every single weapon and not give a damn about power recharge time. -123492304923049% power recharge time? Challenge accepted!

Ha I was going to bump this just now! Well Bioware, why are the cooldown times so freaking slow for a soldier in the demo? (a soldier, i might add, who did not even have A SNIPER RIFLE EQUIPPED)
oh and, preorder cancelled

I've always played as a soldier, but plan on retconning it a bit and playing her as Sentintel in ME3. Soldier is fun and all, but there's only so long before Adrenalin Rush loses it's sheen. Frag grenades do tempt me, though.

Yeah.. Ive always played as a soldier, and even after kicking some behind with the other classes in multiplayer, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Adrenalin rush is the is as useful as it always was. My chief tool in beating Insane difficulty was rush, not the assault rifles.
I don't see how rush will diminish in importance.
Though with MP in mind, I see Salarian Infiltrator and Asari adept as my favorites.

I've also been using soldier throughout the first two games mostly due to the fact that I love assault rifles. In 3 I'll finally be able to charge as a vanguard with a rifle, and I'm glad.

They can equip more than two weapons.... but then you won't be able to use powers much.

From the looks of the screenshots, the Soldier has a passive/ability called Fortitude. Which by the name, resembles that of Fitness/Immunity skill in ME1, which would make the Soldier ten times better than the ME2 counterpart.
ME1 Soldier tops any class in any game, unless in ME3 they let us choose ANY bonus ability, instead of a few selection. Because Soldier with Tech Armor in ME3 would be THE ****!!!![/quote]
Hell Yeah !

Played through both ME1&2 as a male Shep who was an Earthborn War Hero Soldier. I think of him as a military man and flinging around biotic powers would just feel weird to me.
I'm sure I'll play as other classes in the MP but my Single Player Shep will always be a soldier.

Never underestimate the versatility of a fully-equipped Soldier with multiple leveled-up Ammo powers. You always have the right gun to wreak havoc with anything. Except, well, a Reaper or something. But every class would be flattened by that, so that's beside the point.

Shep soldier gets a maximum capacity bonus of 100, 40-50% more than the next best SP class and more than 3 times the capacity of MP soldier. With upgraded weapons and Concussive shot on a low cooldown to start, SP soldiers will still get to play hoarder.

I started my ME1/ME2 playthroughs as soldier as well, before I got brave enough to try other classes. My most recent couple of playthroughs of ME1/ME2 were all various classes, and I thought I would hang up the soldier pads for good. When the ME3 demo released, I immediately started playing as Vanguard and Infiltrator for multiplayer. Today I decided to level up my Soldier, and I honestly forgot how fun that class is.
Soldiers are not the fastest, and they're not the hardest hitting. They cannot charge or disappear, nor can they throw baddies around with biotics, or set them on fire with tech. The advantage of soldiers are their versatility. With a soldier you can be a sniper, a tank, a brawler, or sneak around the map. It is an incredibly well rounded class. Soldiers specialize in everything and nothing all at the same time. My first ME3 playthrough will be as a soldier.

Soldier's awesome in single player, but surprisingly to myself I enjoy the Infiltrator so much more in multiplayer.

Soldier is great in single player, its the most versatile class that can handle any enemy.
Soldier in multiplayer isn't bad either, pretty versatile as well though it doesn't have a specific power that makes it stand out among others.

Vanguard seems useless, it's a risky class to choose.
