It's a shame nobody came up with this idea a few weeks ago, when the old
thread has been constantly hanging around at the top of the threads
page. Anyway, I don't intend to continue the discussion. I only wish a
developer will come across this thread.
So, basically, there isn't
really a need to make an option to turn off those arrows(even though, at
first, I thought it would suck to have them on screen). Instead, their
size could be adjusted and they could be set to appear after a short
period of the player's inactivity, hang on the screen for several
seconds and then disappear again. I'll try to make it clearer.
Have you played Plants vs Zombies? There is a minigame in it, called Beghouled.
I hope the majority of you are familiar with it's rules. So, the point
is, if the player is doing nothing for 30 seconds or so, the game kinda highlights the necessary combination of plants. The highlighting is active
for ~4-5 seconds, then it dissappears. So, I thought, why not do the
same thing with the arrows in ME3? Newbies will have their tutorial in
place, while experienced players won't even manage to see it - they'll
probably move pretty quick from cover to cover. If not, well, then, the
arrows would disappear just as they would appear, so, it's a not a
concern, I guess. And they would help those who're stuck anyway.
I hope somebody important comes by this thread[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/joyful.png[/smilie]

Sorry for the double post of the thread, the forum had some kind of bug. Please delete the second one.

The arrows will only show up when you push a direction, to show you where you'll roll if you push A whilst holding that direction. They don't just appear randomly whilst you're in cover.

^That just doesn't make sense to me, I keep saying. If I'm pressing the button to roll out of cover and holding right on the stick, I should roll right. I don't need an arrow telling me where I'm about to go.

That might not be the true extent of the arrows purpose, but the idea applies to all of these situations.

Yeah? Then I don't see what is their purpose in my gameplay process.
I guess I'll stick with the "make an option to turn them off" then. Sadly.
