I think it is very possible, but I also think it is likely that Anderson will be implied to have died, being left behind, but that near the end he'll make a heroic return.
A pity, a traitor like that doesn't deserve a noble death.

No, no, no, no, no...It's always the second squad member you get in the first mission that dies remember? Jenkins was a secondary squad mate-ish and Wilson was definitely as you found him later and joined your squad for a bit

While also declaring his undying love for Shepard (regardless of gender).

Actually, Udina is a fierce advocate of humanity, willing to fight politically for human rights. While Anderson is a nice guy, the other council members simply don't take him very seriously.

I don't think so, in the gameplay trailer it looks like Anderson makes it to the Normand safely. I'm thinking that they'll just drop him off someplace safe after that before the next time Shepard goes into combat.

He stays on Earth at the end of that mission. They won't kill him offscreen, but I don't like the guy's chances as beloved mentor for surviving the endgame.

Are you seriously comparing Anderson to Jenkins and Wilson? The latter have no impact on the trilogy except for their respective missions where they die without incident, one being your generic red shirt, and the other being the obvious traitor who was getting his comeuppance.
Also have you even read the books? If anything I think Anderson may be joined by Sanders in providing support to Shepard, or simply be delegated to a minor role like in ME2.
