I think the only thing that would make me even consider it is if everything were to become digital or even worse if cloud gaming were to be the only source of media.
Is there anything that would make you give up gaming?

Discussions like these make gaming seem like the electronic equivalent of a used heroin needle.
That being said, I really don't see myself giving up gaming anytime soon.
I mean, the amount of time I spend gaming is going to drop dramatically once the new semester starts up, but until then I just do it to burn time.

If for some reason I found myself changing sex and turning into a bodybuilder, I'd drop gaming in a heartbeat. Muscle guys are gross.

Zombie apocalypse. It is inevitable, and I for one welcome it.

I would welcome a digital-only age of gaming. If there's anything that would make me give up gaming it would be if they stopped making good games.

If Pokemon existed, I would ALL ova' dat shizzz!
Gyarados, Garchomp, a genetically altered Bulbasaur, the list goes on.
Ironic, that a game coming to life is one of the only things that would get me to stop gaming.

If my eyesight were to deteriorate drastically because of it.
And even then, I'd have to strongly consider if that was a helluva glorious way to have it go.

If the moral guardians had their way and the only games available were PG rated.
I have nothing against games for kids, but I'm an adult now. If I want a videogame that provides mature and sophisticated entertainment, then no moral guardian should tell me otherwise.

Sure. If there were no good games to play I'd give it up in a heartbeat. Also, if I developed any physical ailments (carpal tunnel, eyestrain), I'd severely curtail my gaming, or stop gaming completely. Seriously, there are other fun things to do.

If I get accepted to Mcgill University..
But I would only lower my 4-6 hour gaming to maybe 1-2 hours
*Edit* Other than that, No, I don't plan to quit videogames, I can see myself at age 70 still playing them

Nope.
Gaming is a great hobby, and I feel it is the greatest medium for storytelling. The stories and writing in video games often trumps movies and books. Mass Effect is a perfect example.

At one time in my life, I was so utterly addicted to gaming.
When GRAW2 was out, all I did was play it 'round the clock.
I was so enthralled with the rush of being really good at 'Last Man Standing' it often shocked many that I was a girl (at that time, girls were hardly seen online for FPSs), that I had steadily built a reputation and was often approached for recruitment among the top teams globally.
To play competitively, it meant that I had to devote time to practice and as a co-captain I had to coordinate and assign the schedule since everyone was in different timezones, and all that pretty much took time away from my family.
After it got out of hand with hardly eating and sleeping, it took a toll on my marriage and so I stopped for a few years and I swore never to let anything consume me again.
Now, as with everything. I play in moderation and measure in a good balance of family activities.
So in answer to the topic:
My family.........in a heartbeat.
And no, I would not do it begrudgingly.
My happiness lies in the of those I love.
