boredom

if it weren't for multiple genres (rts, rpg, platformer, fps, racing, etc.) and multiple styles of gaming (handheld, mobile, desktop, couch, etc.) i would've quit on gaming a very long time ago

All games being less than 10 hours would be pretty devastating.

I think the only thing that would make me even consider it is if everything were to become digital or even worse if cloud gaming were to be the only source of media.

All gaming will go digital in the near(very near) future and we can do nothing about it.<_<

Anyway on to the topic, I don't know I guess if all future games became boring I would stop.

Nope.

Gaming is a great hobby, and I feel it is the greatest medium for storytelling. The stories and writing in video games often trumps movies and books. Mass Effect is a perfect example.

I was going to write something myself, until I read this on the first page... :P

sympathy4saren -- I concur... ^_^

I would only give up gaming for 10 million dollars (or on my case euro's).

10 million dollars, nothing less.

Lack of good games would certainly do it.

Husband and I will find out soon.  Our firstborn will be two weeks old or so when ME3 comes out.

I can strap baby to my chest for cuddle time, arrange the headphones so I can still hear out of one ear, and finish my Shepard's story, right?  ;)

If I lost interest and didn't have fun with it anymore, I'd stop. But there are so many genres of games these days I don't really foresee that happening.

I suggest you have your baby play the game, that's what I suggest.

Might as well start young.

Higher studies in universities that required me to be gone for an extended period of time, just getting sick of the current games, or a mid-life crisis might cause me to stop gaming.

I plan to enter the field in a journalistic fashion, so...it would be rather detrimental to my career.

If I had to, I could.
