I am a woman. I collect Barbie dolls. I love My Little Pony, kittens, puppies, sunshine, lollipops and rainbows. And even I think this is a ridiculous idea. Armored skirts? This ain't anime. Ugh.

You know, anime looked good in games back in the early 90's, but something horrific happened in japan at the end of the 20th century. Please keep the picasso style costumes, spiky hair, and justin bieber looking PC's out of my bioware games.
I dont want shepard looking like this

Au contraire, I love my guys to look like girls. :3

Well, historically, armored skirts were used.  However, it was usually for one of three reasons.  They either didn't know that pants would be more effective; they didn't have enough metal to make a set of armored pants; or they didn't have the money necessary to pay for the metal for armored pants.  But in just about every situation (Scottish being exceptions), pants were used instead of skirts.  They just work better in combat.  They protect more, they allow better freedom of movement, there is less chance of getting them caught on something, etc.

Thus, in a game in which the technology is so advanced, I don't see it working.  Not in combat anyway.  Maybe ceremonial, like the modern Scottish kilts.

You're also forgetting about the fact that full plate armor is heavy as hell. Look at basic samurai armor for example, or chainmail.

I agree. But I don't know if it follows the overall art direction they wanted to take the game in. :C

This is the most Do Not Want thing I've seen on these forums. And that's saying something, because there have been some really lousy ideas.

If it were me designing the game there would be even fewer 'girly' options. Shepard wouldn't even have makeup. Eyeliner running into your eyes from sweat during the heat of battle = very bad. My FemShep goes natural.

Whoa, I'm glad you're not the developer, especially considering femsheps armor quality and facial features are **** compared to male shep as is. (There is a photo album somewhere containing comparison photos of the armor quality, I'll dig it up and post it.) EDIT: The photo comparisons are at the bottom of the album.

Also, I have NEVER had eyeliner run into my eyeballs. Even in extremely sweaty situations (whoa that sounds bad). I do feel the make up is a bit much, but men have crazy beards. They have to balance the character creation somehow.

+1

Waterproof Masacara is a god-send imagine what make-up stuff they have in the future, it'd be like in Fifth Element.

The eye make-up in the creation screen makes the eyes look better anyway so that's why I use it...

Yeah, Femshep looks WEIRD without eyeliner. Her eyelashes are so sparse it baffles my mind.

Haha! Coverup, eyeliner and mascara brought to you by Omni-gel.
Easy, breezy, beautiful omni-girl.

I would have preferred some HQ natural lip textures or various eyelashes rather than repaints of plastic looking glossy lipstick and silver eyeshadow, personally. Different strokes and all that, I guess.

Hi guys!  My boyfriend got me into Mass Effect 2 and at first I was hesitant because I'm not too keen on FPS, but I made an adept with pink armor and love the game.

I was wondering if ME3 would include pink armor or maybe some more girly things for female Shephard.  Like maybe an armor skirt instead of legs or a vanity to change makeup or hair.

Armor skirt like:

www.blogcdn.com/massively.joystiq.com/media/2011/04/pso5.jpg

That'd be pretty cool.  Thanks!

In response to the above conversation, I would get rid of all of the blush options. Those are guarunteed to ruin any well-crafted face.

A lot of the more vibrant lipstick options look ridiculous, too.

This I agree with. If they took away shepard's makeup and added more textures or better haircuts/faces - I'd be completely fine. Not ALL women look scary when they don't wear makeup, Bioware.

Edit: I was just worried that by "take it all away" you meant simply remove those extra cosmetic options and add nothing lucatrive to femshep's creation.

Edit: I didn't have issues with the blush, but I only used it on one character. I only used the muted lipstick and greyish / any eyeshadow that looked fairly natural.

FemShep needs the make-up to look half decent. I'm glad they muted the lipstick somewhat though, some of the colours in ME1 were downright scary.

OP if you're playing on the PC you can mod ME2 so Shep wears NPC clothes on the Normandy. The Sharon Stone dress is not the only option.

I'll be happy if FemShep gets her own animations and her armour gets the final polish Sheploo's had. Above linked pics just make me feel sad.

Its not always the case, but most of the time, it is.

The pieces fit. Don't feed. Move on.

I made an account so I could post this suggestion.  Just cuz many might not like/care about these options doesn't mean it's a troll.  If it weren't for some girl mentioning having pink armor in the game it wouldn't be there in the first place.  So I figured someone should bring it up.  If you don't like it, fine, but that doesn't make it a troll.

Don't worry about most people here on BSN. Most of us are geared for troll action :P but welcome to the BSN forums.

About your armor suggestion, I suppose if you want an armor skirt, there should be some armor plating covering your legs. Also, The skirt shouldn't be too long or wide. It would probably look too out of place during combat. Heck, if I was a female Mass Effect gamer with female tastes, I think I'd totally dig an armor attachment where you could have Hello Kitty decals!

If I'm not mistaken, you've played MMO's where wearing even pretty princess outfits don't matter in a fight. I have and let me tell you, watching my friends move around in that and kick ass was pretty entertaining. Although.. For this game in particular, it has to stay sci-fi ish.. I'm not positive about feminine armor having much diversity.

That skirt is way too long, what is this Victorian England? Miniskirts can happen though. I approve.

Yes. None of my characters apply make-up before battle. Deeper physical customization though, that I could get behind.

I was scared for a second before I clicked that. JRPGs are the bane of my existence and I assumed it was a link to something they were doing in ME3.

That's interesting though.
