 So is he still married or divorced since Revelation...

went through the SB's files and his supposedly ex-wife, Cynthia (no doubt the same name), asked him to goes to his sons' graduation? something is wrong? I thought he decided to remain single after his 1st divorce because he knows that it is difficult for him to have a family due to his commitments?

and the book seems to assume he was not made counciler... and Shepard survived ME2...

so the books are not to be believed?

From my understanding the books are canon. He is divorced. I don't think that son is his, but her new husband. It doesn't mean they didn't remain friends. I could be wrong, but that is how I took it.

If they remained friends, why not?

much potential! I know Henry would frown at the thought, but I couldn't
help recalling the pomp around your appointment to the Hastings. You
were the second in command, weren't you? The military always did
ceremony very well. God, that was a lifetime ago.
Jason says to send his best. I'm so proud of him! "Aerospace
Engineer." I don't pretend to understand what he does, but the gleam in
his eyes when he is trying to explain his latest designs to me say that
he has found his place in this universe. He wanted you to be there, at
his ceremony, but I know duty calls. He sees you as a heroic figure off
fighting grand battles in space. I hope you can make it for the holidays
this year. Henry asked just the other day. I know you don't see eye to
eye on much but he respects you. He respects what you do. And you know
Jason is over the moon when you can take the time to review his ship
designs.

It seems she is remarried and the son is from her new marriage.  It also seems to me, they remained on friendly terms.  They didn't have any kids when they got divorced.

At the end of the last book, Retribution, he has a new girlfriend too, Kahlee Sanders.

I just finished reading that book last week.  Sanders turned him down and left.  She said it wouldn't work out and wouldn't even try.

I get were you were coming from, and I wouldn't  have known he was divorced before a few weeks ago when I read the first book.  Just finished it last week.  I have another book to read before reading the 2nd book.

You got the right book? They took Grayson's body to research, they kissed, I thought they were going to try. She agreed to go with him. Unless I'm getting the books mixed up. You sure you aren't thinking of Revelation? Revelation is the first book, Retribution is the 3rd I think.

Revelation: divorced from wife, proceeded to hook up with Kahlee Sanders.
LotSB: 25 years later still talks to ex-wife and son.
Retribution: 25 years later, hooked up with Kahlee again. Permanently I presume.

I've only read the first book and she turned him down.  I've not read the other two.
