I feel that they are not because of the huge climatic event that happens.
Furthermore, those changes... are the entire reason that climactic event happens.
I always got the impression that Anders planned that all from the very beginning. I believe it's the reason he went to Kirkwall in the first place. I don't believe that the changes have any bearing on that event.
I think he went to Kirkwall to genuinely try to help the mages in Kirkwall which seems to be one of the more strictly controlled circles in Thedas and is close to Ferelden. Not to [SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER] the [SPOILER] with the {SPOILER SPOILER] on a [SPOILER]. It doesn't make any sense if he was planning the gigantmo spoiler unless he could see the future or 90% of Varric's story is BS and Cassandra's original assumptions were correct about how everything went bonkers.

I often ask myself that very question.......hasn't stopped since release day. Actually, the bashing started way earlier.
I was very critical of it too. Didn't like the trailers and most of the release info until about.....December 2010. But I just ignored it and played DAO/other games instead.

Same, I only got excited for DA2 one month before it came out after I played the demo, read the short stories, watched both livetreams from Mike, watched leak gameplay and read the massive spoiler thread. I still preorded it to get the SE but I was not expecting much.Persephone wrote...

Conspiracy Theories! Truly isn't that what it's all about? LOL. Actually though Cassandra's assumptions were about the whole as a group; whereas, it's really just about Anders/Justice.

Anders explicitly explains that he is warning Hawke away because he perceives himself as dangerous and an abomination (in both senses). I don't believe Anders is lying because when he genuinely lies later in the game he is awful at it.DreGregoire wrote...
Basically it's more about how he warns Hawke away from the start, but that isn't the only conversation that made me go hmmm... What is this being up to?

Agreed. One of the most interesting discussions we've had since DAII came out.

Yes, and it would prevent people like me, who didn't like the game and don't have it registered from taking part in the discussion.

Regarding characters: DAII SHOWS, DAO just TELLS.
Agree with this. Regardless of the writing quality, having active as opposed to passive characters is very much the right way for Bioware to take things. Ofc, DAO had an active character as well - Morrigan.

Yes there is. But it is hard to see it from up there. Get off your high horse first.

I would say that seeing more people like you having exclusivity to any discussion on the forums makes a pretty strong case in favour of there being a downside, in fact.

We want to to have a discussion that will most certainly include a great deal of spoilers. Therefore I offered to take it to spoiler section (you know, the appropriate place to have such a discussion).
So...you have a problem with not discussing spoilerific topics in non-spoiler forums?
Ahhh, now I get it...oh wait, I don't.

As always there is this one simple very effective solution if you can't get it.
Stop reading/posting in a thread you don't like.
Bam! Problem solved.
You can also make a thread by yourself in the spoliers section if you really want to, no one is holding you here.

*sigh*
You have to have the game registered if you want to take part in discussions in the spoiler section. I rented the game and returned it, so I don't have it registered (well, actually, registering games is just one of these things I don't do in general), so I get locked out of these discussions. So yes, I have a problem with it moving to a place I don't have access to.
Got it now?
But you have to hand it to the admins... limiting that section to those with the game registered (meaning those who are more likely to like the game) is a pretty neat way of cutting down on the uncomfortable criticism thing...

I get that you want to participate in the discussion but can't because you rented the game, and I'm really sorry, because it would be interesting to hear as many different opinions as possible.
But complaining about bringing a spoiler topic to spoiler section because you don't have the game registered is kind of pointless. Since, you know, we can't discuss spoilers in this forum even if we really, really want to.
Those are the rules of the forum, you and me can like them or not, but it won't change anything.
But since DreGregoire hasn't started a topic yet, arguing about this matter any further makes no sense.

If you really care so much about talking in registered users forum :
1 - Click "My Games" -> "Register Game"
2 - Choose PS3 game
3 - Enter this UPC code : 014633195286
Voila ! You have now Dragon Age 2 registered and you can post everywhere.
Oh and don't be affraid. This is perfectly legal - confiremd by the moderator here on BSN.
