I had some problems logging in so I had to change my password. Now, when I try to access bioware points the site asks me to confirm my password. I type in exactly the same pass that I use for logging in and it tells me that "The login details you provided were invalid. Please try again.". I had to change my password again just to be sure and even though I tried with all three passwords, it still doesn't work.

I tried to log in with both firefox and opera. What's wrong?

Occasionally, when trying numerous times to login, a cookie is stored in your browser's cache that repeats the error. Have you cleared out your temp files, cookies and browser cache?

For Firefox, you can just press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and it will bring up the Clear History window.
For Opera, from the File menu, click to select Preferences. Next, click to select History and cache. To clear Typed in addresses and Visited addresses (history), click Clear. To clear Disk cache, click Empty now.

If you are unable to purchase points through this site, you can buy BioWare Points from the Origin Store at http://store.origin.com. The packages are as follows:

800 BioWare Points for $10 USD
1600 BioWare Points for $20 USD

I deleted the cookies but I still get the same error. I could buy points from the origin site but to buy DLCs from Bioware I still have to confirm my password so I would bump onto the same error.

This is the error I get when I try to access points.bioware.com and when I try to buy DLCs. http://img715.images...lnetwork130.png

EDIT: there was some problem with the screenshot.

As do I. And as FU graduate stated, purchasing the points from Origin Store doesn't really help since we can't use them to buy the DLC from BioWare Social network :(

Good to know it's not a problem on my side. Did that happen to you after you changed password after that June 14th hacker break-in?

I have the same problem, changed password twice and get email saying password successfully changed. Still can't buy Bioware points, frustrating. Pleased though that's its not just me.

Yes. Hmmm. Change password to old one? :)

I noticed this problem just yesterday, but I was also affected by the June 14th NWN incident. I also contacted EA support (via E-mail, waiting on the "real time chat" was "real time wasting of time") and surprise surprise, the support mail states that I should a) clear Cookies etc. B) try a different browser. Now, I have done this and I also pointed the tech guy to this forum which stated that that solution does not work.

NickLion: I did try the old password also, no luck :(

In any case, this is quite ridiculous, I really want to buy legitimate DLC and support the developers and it has taken me over 2 days and no success yet. Someone, who pirates his/her games, can simply download the DLC.exe and play in 5 minutes :(

I don't know what exactly did it but it works for me (for now). What I did was logout from bioware, log in again, go to edit profile and change password. This redirected me to the EA site. I tried to change my password to my old one. The strange thing is that when I entered my old pass, the site said that it contained invalid characters (an underscore and a hyphen), but my old pass was accepted and worked at the Bioware site. Anyway, I changed my pass again to something else without extra ASCII characters (only alphanumeric chars.), and without loging out from EA, I went into Bioware, logged out from Bioware, logged in again with the new pass and suddenly the points.bioware.com site works without asking for confirmation of my password.

Sorry for the complexity but I think that any step of the process could be important. Hope this helps.

I looked at my old passwords and I think that the problem is ASCII characters. Somehow, when you log in to Bioware social, ASCII characters in passwords are accepted (!@#$% etc.) but the "confirm your password" system or EA does not accept them. All my old passwords had ASCII characters.

You're on the right track, it seems. EA passwords cannot contain ASCII characters, so updating your password to something that is specifically just numbers and/or letters should allow you to purchase the DLC.

After updating your password, are you able to purchase?

Everything works great. I bought points several times and then bought Shadowbroker without any problem at all. I hope my solution works for everyone else as well.

Sure enough, changing my password in to something that contains alphanumeric letters works. Can't confirm that the actual purchase process works at the moment but at least the site doesn't ask me to verify my password anymore. Nice FU graduate :)

Also, if you EA_AgentX can but the message forward, that it might be useful if it were stated that using special characters in your password is a bad idea, when you are on the "change password" page ;)

Yes, alphanumeric password works fine. But this is less secure. And EA profile password can't contain more than 16 characters. Strange constraint. Hash of the password should be stored, therefore it doesn't matter how many symbols in passwd and what they are.

Excactly! And it's horrible. I seriously want to play Legacy.
EDIT: Damn, I always used lots of symbols in my passwords...

You may need to change your password to something that is strictly alphanumeric in order to successfully login to the servers.

Here's an FAQ with some information regarding this: http://support.ea.co...etail/a_id/3266
