I'm not sure if anyone else feels my frustration on this, but I was upset when we were unable to alter the appearance of Shepard in ME2 if we imported them from ME1.  I know I could have totally modified Shepard, but all I wanted to do was look at different hairstyles or my blush color on femshep.  I get that the Lazarus project got rid of our old scars to be replaced by new ones, but it seems like at least my hair could have grown in that time period.

Seeing that default Shepard has at least one new scar on the left side of his hairline, I'm hoping that we can alter our imported characters in ME3.  I wouldn't necessarily need the Black Emporium mirror to alter Shep at will, but it'd be nice to play around with the appearance a bit without having to try and recreate him/her.

I agree 100%, it was a bit frustrating to not have any option to modify anything on an imported ME 1 Shep and having to use a mod or what ever was time consuming (load, modify, save, load, modify save etc etc), since the graphics were improved between ME1 and 2 they should have allowed it, little tweaks for a two year laps (as well as being squished up and rebuilt) wouldn't have been any stretch I would have thought.

I know...and if I'm going to be getting a new scar, I want to pick it out.

One would think all the cybernetics Shepard has now, no scarring will take place.

If you didn't like how your Shep looked, why didn't you change it in ME1? I think the only thing import Shep will be able to change is hairstyle and that is just fine with me. Even though I love how my canon femShep looks. I wouldn't change a thing.

So ladyvader you're saying we shouldn't be able to change makeup options for femShep? MaleShep can't shave or grow a beard/moustache? Saying if we didn't like it in ME1 why didn't we change it then is a bit ... I don't know .... unnecessary? I thought my Shep looked ok in the character creation screen but after I had played for a bit I realised I would have liked to change one or two things but I wasn't going to start over for that.

The lack of being able to make adjustments on an imported Shepard in ME2 was frustrating to me as well. Honestly there are a couple of things I would have liked to tweak on the face and if they were going for a full reconstruction anyway you should have been able to make some changes.

That is different.  I was thinking that people want to change everything about Shepard's looks.  If you changed how Shepard looked in ME2, then the Lazerus Project is considered a failure..per Miranda's comments on the logs.  I don't want to change anything about any of my Shepard's.  I don't see the need for it.  If you want a different look, creat a new Shepard.

Hair would mean facial hair as well.

Wait what? You can't change an ME1 imported Shepard's appearance? I've been doing that countless times before. Admittedly I couldn't change much else if I imported from ME2 but still, I don't recall there ever being a restriction to customisation with ME1 imports.

From what been stated so far, you will not be able to change facial features and the like.  But hair and those types of things for ME3.

Casey confirmed that you will be able to alter you current Shep in ME3, it's in the "Twiiter" thread in "General Discussion".

@ladyvader ... I get that you don't want to change anything about your Shepard. That's cool. Why shouldn't those of us who want to make changes be able to make changes? Why should I have to create a completely new Shepard if I like my choices from ME1 and ME2 and just want to make a couple of minor adjustments?

@Khran1505 ... When importing from ME1 to ME2 it was an all or nothing deal. You could keep what you have or start completely over again. Many of us who want to change things want to take the face we imported and make a couple of alterations not start all over again.

An angry batarian throws a grenade at your face, begin facial reconstruction.

It sounded like you'd be able to altar an imported face without having to start over(like happened in ME2) which would be great because in ME2 I wanted to change his hair.

@Stoney

Exactly what I was hoping for. Don't want drastic changes, just tweaks. Glad Bioware will appease me. Thanks for the intel.

Correction, Casey said we "should" be able to when we import in ME3, not a confirmation but a planned feature.

I think Casey or another Bioware Dev said something about we can alter our hairstyles.

Hopefully this means more hairstyles available, maybe even some that don't look like they belong on a wax figure.

Ok ok wait. So you guy would rather have the option to just change you hair and make-up then being able to change everthing. I mean why not have the option to change howw your imported Shepard looks. I mean it would be better to have it then not have it. Cause there are a few things i would like to change about a few of my imported characters.

Would be nice if Shepard could change his/her hairstyle, facial hair and make up in the Captain's quarters.

I think there should be the option to change everything if you want it, or only hair/make-up, etc if you want it. In ME2, I had to reconstruct my Shep's face completely because the import had huge jutting cheekbones.

In some RPGs you can change stuff like hair and tattoos, but not physical attributes like cheekbones and nose shape. That would be a nice feature. Like, say, if you "observe" the mirror in the bathroom on the Normandy, you can give Shepard a shave.

All I know is that the military hairstyles can't be an excuse now. Ashley has her hair down, and she is still true to the Alliance. (Even though she is a Spectre in ME3 supposedly) I'd appreciate some longer female hairstyles.

Even though in the military you are not allowed to have any kind of facial hair, yet MaleShep could.

As stated, Casey confirmed it.

I hope we get to not only customize the hair, but the make up and skin textures as well. I want my canon Shepard to look really tired and worn out by ME3.
