Ok it's confirmed we're visiting Mars in 3

A few things I know of the base is: 

A base was being studied by humans.

Caveman was observed by prothean scientist there and possibly even abducted by them due to his missing time moment.



So with this base or bases what do you hope to find there?


I hope we get 2 bases. One consisting of the research group possibly now hiding out sense Earth is getting attacked by reapers. These guys find a base that holds unique tech but sense only shep can read, speak, and understand prothean word he'll find clues that send him to an undiscovered and unknown (by the research crew) base.

The second base would hold info on other prothean reaper fighting products if not outright protoypes, we'll learn about what they did to caveman and did they play with genetics to make humans an anti reaper weapon, ect.


I'd also while dealing with the researchers would like to have some comedy moment were what they think items are they aren't. For instance they find a metal plate that has tones of words on it the researchers think it was a billboard type of thing showing memos but shep takes a few moments to look at it and says nope it's part of a bathroom stall and the writing is lude graffiti things like that. 

I'd also like more reaper speech and shep can translate it to his crew. I like the what moment on Illos as everyone else is struggling with the prothean speech.  

I'd like these guys to be able to give us tech throughout the game once we win them over and thorough out the game they send over transcripts that que in mini games for players to decipher in various puzzles and once the puzzle is complete we get to read what info it is some is tech related, others humor, others war tactic related and we send it back to the Mars base so they can develop the tech or find new leads on improving the war tactics outlined for us.

The problem with Mars is that its basically spitting distance from Earth for FTL related travel speeds. Most likely the Reapers will give it a good once over on the way to Earth.

Meh, I don't think ME needs to go into early human development/origins ala BSG.  The Protheans as scientists would probably not want to disturb the subjects they were studying in such a drastic way.

Meh, I don't think ME needs to go into early human development/origins ala BSG.  The Protheans as scientists would probably not want to disturb the subjects they were studying in such a drastic way. 

Anyway didn't Humanity already discover and excavate the Prothean base on Mars thus learning of the tech etc ages ago?

i kind of liking the idea of getting helpful tech from the research teams on Mars and also finding any information that might give us a edge against the reapers like their weak point and ancient schematics 2 a ancient weapon that was never put together and we could do put it together and install on the Normandy

We are still discovering ruins here on Earth and we've been on this planet for tens of thousands of years...like its not possible we missed something on Mars, right?

I dont know what BSG is, but ME has already ventured into early human development. I just think it would be an interesting twist, much like finding out the prothean/collector connection or the mass relay/reaper connection. But hey, thats just me.

Mars will be like the moon and mostly barren.  Once the relay was found, there was almost no point in Mars.

BSG= Battlestar Galactica.  They have done a cursory take on early human development, the only thing is that the protheans studied us through implanting cavemen.  They were an advanced species trying not to alter our primitive species.  I think the fact they studied us is enough.  I don't need any deeper connection. The connections you have stated make sense with the story.  I mean I don't need that the Protheans ended up altering humans and their development so that they could finally take down the Reapers.

Like I said, its just my preference. Attempting to determine the motives of a long extinct species that we know almost nothing about seems pretty pointless.

Probably find some zombified prothean or something weird like that...Usually in Sci-fi games when they build a base on Mars and start digging around it ends badly

I just replayed that part they put in some type of recording device in his brain but who says they didn't do something else like alter the gene's in him? Harbi likes to keep chatting about the human genetic legacy and of course Mornith was convinced there was a genetic legacy with Yakshi. The reapers smoothie people to put into terminator baby, and the protheans were looking at human vs collector dna and collecting rare species for unknown purposes. It all keeps going back to genetics. It also doesn't help that here on Earth there is a theory (I don't prescribe to) that say aliens changed our dna structure and or breed with us. The ones who say this theory site things like space man in the Nazca, a hindu tale with flying machine cities called Raza (I think), the shift of the caveman to modern man in a large way, and other things.

As many have stated if the reapers just wanted to eat people why not do so to all cultures why wait till they  reached their evolutionary peak? Surely it's not the tech they want their's is much better, they don't want the planet's minerals they're machine and can't use them, all that's left is the bodies or their cells.
