It hass been a long time since I watched the demo of ME1 back then. So I decided to search for it, and I found it. I was surprised by this early beta of ME, is nothing like ME1.

The textures look a bit differently, more detailed I think, the places have a darker tone, the effects are better (atleast the fire effect of incendiary shots looks like fire xD), biotics seem to work like they are supposed to, the sniper rifle has controled zoom.

There are a lot of things that I liked, but the best is the galactic map, that was amazing in every single way. Of course there are crappy things, like the voices, ashley specially... I fell the need to kill her after 10 sec of listening to her, and default shepard´s face is just ... well, wtf with his nose?.

Another thing that I liked was Ashley´s helmet, flashlights attached to weapons, and destructible enviroment. The squad control system is pretty interesting but slow.

And the asari making references to machines, I don´t know if she was talking about the geth or the reapers but it was a big spoiler.

The link:

There are more videos about this.

Which are your opinions about this? What do you like and what not?

The only thing that I want implemented in ME3 is the galactic map xD

EDIT: WHOOOOO!! THE MAKO

Ahh, and it seems that Shepard has another running animation for when you hold the gun, he is not constantly aiming forward, I think this means that were supposed to press aim button to hold the gun in fire possition.

Yeah, I would've loved to play that game. I heard that they eventually changed everything because it was too heavy and couldn't work for some reason. The voices and Shepard's face were not as good as they eventually turned out to be, but I didn't care much for it back then.
Having that galaxy map would be cool, but I'm also cool with ME (1)'s version, without the fuel and the silly toy ship and just having a marker. Way easier and faster than 'flying' the ship.

I liked the lighting better but that's about it. Although, I do wish we could control our squadmates sometimes.

The voice acting and characters faces seem a little off to me. But aside from that this actually looks quite good. Anyone know why they changed it?

They probably toned down all the "fluff" in regards to texture detail to aid performance.

In order to cater to the XBawX360's limitations.

Stuff always seems to change from E3 to release, Even ME2's E3 video had quite a bit of UI changes from E3 to Release.

As for the ME1 video it is pretty neat (Despite a lot of it being rendered cut scenes like tha galaxy map) but i was still happy with the end product of ME1.

Dumb comment. It's in the beta phase. Mordin Solus didn't even have the right voice actor and it was clearly not refined gameplay.

Mordin? The discussion is about the ancient E3 demo of ME1, not ME3.

I'd go with saying the original scope was massively over the ability of the team to produce in the time frame required.
