Ha, I would have never known the name if I haven't checked now. It was called Enduro...

... a racing game on Atari 2600 with changing background (morning, noon, evening, night). Not completely sure if it was the first one I have ever played, but it was head and shoulders above the rest of my Atari games.

In general, my favorite childhood game was Nekketsu Kunio Kun Soccer League (Goal 3) on NES, a sequel to Nintendo World Cup, I guess.

Probably an old Pokemon on the game boy.
That or Pyjama Sam for the PC. It 's actually pretty fun, when you're below eight !
On a home console, probably Burnout (the very first) on my cousin's ps2. It was a revelation...

Oh!  I thought this was going to be about sex.  If that were the case, I have never had it before because I am a Mormon and I do not believe in having sex before marriage.  (Also, I am not a polygamist, either.  Mormons are not polygamists).  I have even declined sex from a girl.  Requires an inordinate amount of will power.

...Anyways, my first game would be Super Mario on an arcade machine.  Man, was I ever entranced into that game!  I loved it.

You feel old? The first game I can remember playing was Squirm on the Commodore C16. I played that game HOURS.

Gawd blimey, that video brings back some memories!

I think I was about 5 when I first played this.

The Commode 16 came out more than two years after the 64, remember: it was a budget system aimed at those for whom the 64 was too pricey.

Well, blimey o'reilly, I never knew that!

I'd got it into my head that C16 came first. I stand corrected, thanks. :)

I only remember because its release coincided with a particular time of my life!  I think in essence it was a replacement for the ageing VIC20, and was released alongside the short-lived Plus 4, the latter of which I suspect I was thinking of as the "cheap 64".  I nearly bought one of the latter, but ended up with an Acorn Electron instead.  I wonder if it still works...

Yup, you're right, I had the history wrong in my head. I do remember buying our C16 secondhand, from an old guy who sold it in a huge plastic attache case.

And ooh, I remember using Acorn Electrons and BBC Micros when I was at school! :D

We had Commode PETs and a Research Machines 380Z.  I never got to see much of the RM thingy, it apparently had fantastic graphics and used to roam around the school's science labs on its enormous trolley; I'm not entirely sure what it was used for, though.  I suspect the teachers used to play games on it during breaks.

We had a grand total of three PETs which needed to be moved about as required; it took two pupils to move one of them (our teacher used her pregnancy as an excuse to not get involved!) and even then they were still hernia-inducing.

The BBC Micros came later.  Their Econet system seemed astonishingly fast, especially coupled up to the server's 5MB hard disc.  We could never fill up that monstrous amount of storage!

Tell me about it, I remember sticking a memory expansion in my Amiga 1200, and thinking 2MB was HUGE...

ETA:
And it physically was huge. The memory expansion was on the bottom of the A1200, so, ye had to take the cover off it, slot the expansion in, it fit perfectly, and then you'd find the cover didn't sit on it properly, either because Commodore made it too big or (and this may be more likely) I didn;t put it in right.

Still, fun times! At least it let me play Alien Breed :P

Can't remember properly. It was either Sonic the Hedgehog on the SEGA or Pokemon Red on the GameBoy.

Like Proddit, I can't remember either. It was either Joe Montana football on Sega, Sonic, or maybe Mario on NES. First PC game was warcraft 2 though.

Either Shinobi, Double Dragon or Sai Combat on Amstrad CPC 6128.
That must have been either in 1987 or 1988.
