Will you sacrifice your LI to save the galaxy? Or be selfish like Neo in the Matrix?

But if I absolutely had to choose...*sigh*...I'd choose the LI. What can I say, I'm a hopeless friggin' romantic.

My one and only Shepard: Screw this.
(And so, Taitiana Shepard in a blaze of glory sacrifices herself. Somewhere, in limbo, she is laughing hysterically and taking about some insane gibberish about all the people who shunned her are coping with her absence, etc, etc...)
Somewhere in reality, Illusive Man 2.0 is gathering her remains. : )
Sad thing is, Thane-due to a sudden fit of coughing while avenging Shepard-is a bleeding corpse.
I just can't win. :[

Absolutely. I wouldn't even hesitate and I think my love interest would understand.

Yup. Although such a decision is too cliche for BW.
I hope that's sarcasm.

My main Shepard and Miranda made a promise to each other not to sacrifice the mission for the other. But as long as it's still a winning scenario, yes, this Shepard would let millions die for Miranda. If it was a situation where one of them had to die to ensure a victory, he'd sacrifice himself before Miranda.
My other Shepards might not do the same. Also I seriously hope they won't force a tragic ending on anyone, with the possible exception of Thane where those who romanced him knew from the start that he's dying.

If there is one thing Alpha Protocol teached me, that the saved person is never grateful, that you put his/her life over the life of thousands/millions.

My Shep is gay, no love, so I don't get into this mess.

If nothing else, those LIs would be haunted by the fact they are part-responsible for the deaths of so many. Kaidan and Ash didn't even like their romance with Shep causing the death of whichever one of them dies on Virmire. Translating that to a larger scale would just mean an LI with a serious dose of post-traumatic stress or survivor's guilt. I don't think Shep could save them in that situation and then have a happily-ever-after ending.

The cycle of rebirth. Forget them--they've got nothing to do with it." (Cookie to anyone that knows where that quote is from)
Eh, the Reapers will come around again. Garrus won't. I'd sacrifice my Shepard before I'd sacrifice Garrus. I would sacrifice the galaxy before I would sacrifice my Shepard. Ultimately, My Shep is selfish when it comes to that sexy turian.
Honestly, it isn't Shep's fault that no one believed the ever present threat of the Reapers. In the words of Randy Marsh from SouthPark,"WE DIDN'T LISTEN!" Let the Council sacrifice themselves. Shep has died once before. She is off the payroll. Maybe their beloved use of air quotes will save them. The Reapers can't dispute that logic.

But after thinking about it, maybe I wouldn't do it with my Paragon Shepard, as long as it looked like I was losing the fight against the Reapers and the galaxy was doomed anyway. Let him have some peace until the end.
My Renegade? I imagine she would have no problem with it, she isn't particularly attached to anyone, I think. I'll wait and see how I feel about Liara after I play through both games again.

Still, I'd be tempted to meta-game the heck out of such a choice and save my favorite turian.

Well put Sticky.
And is that Kazuya M? Where's mah cookie!
And another option for BW, though I hope and think that they WILL NOT take this route would be a Halo-ish type ending where if you destroy all life in the galaxy you take away the Reaper's food. But then again, it is a very half-baked idea on my part (one that I came up with in less than 5 minutes, and quickly dismissed as silly).
But again, I really do hope that BW stays away from the "save LI or galaxy" cliche'd type of ending. They are better writers than this.
