I actually have a theory about why the VS didn't request to join you once they calmed down. After Horizon, there's a news report on the Citadel about how a team of Citadel negotiators has been dispatched to batarian space to solve a diplomatic problem with the new Batarian orbital mirror system. The report also mentions the rumour of a Spectre being dispatched to batarian space. Since it is a problem that will involve humans, it makes sense that this was a mission Ashley/Kaidan had to handle, therefore they couldn't join up with you.

I don't expect an apology from the VS either but either way Shep sure in hell doesn't owe them an apology. 

Now if Shep feels like he/she should apologize as long as it's optional I don't care. 

(Oh I hope Shep can actually betray the alliance and give them a nice smirk with a "I'm a traitor now." and flurish dramatically and take TIM's place with Miranda and Jacob by his side)

I loved Ashley in the ME1 I romanced then when I got to Horizon on one of my playthroughs i cheated on her with Jack, another Playthroguh I wanted to kill her with my Biotics. I did manage to stay faithful but when she sent that email I wish we could have responded By telling her I want nothing else to do with her. so yeah the Horizon event made me despise Ashley a lot. Just my opinion.

Never liked Ashley to begin with, don't know why to be honest, guess I found her annoying. So yeah, after Horizon I'm only killing Ashley in my ME1 runs. (tho I have 1 save with her to see how ME3 will be like with her, but if it's possible I will kill her in ME3)
I never thought I could hate a character this much.
