I just found I agreed with him most of the time; I thought Kirkwall was a cesspool I wanted to eradicate, I thought the elves were justified because Aveline was incompetent and bad guard-captain, what else was there.. all the other things were pretty much just being honest with him & telling him if you slaughtered some Qunari? If you had gotten to know Sten in origins the Arishok was easy to figure out. And I'm completely off-topic, sorry.

Kirkwall was awful I agree. I actually don't remember why i didn't agree with him on my first playthrough because I originally wanted to, but something stopped me from doing it? Well I've been known to answer opposite of what I originally wanted to say anyhow. 'Cause I'm weird like that. >:/

Also; I don't remember having to tell him anything about killing any Qunari, I think it has no effect if you avoid those in-between conversations [assuming that's what you're referring to?] you can have with him, because I intentionally didn't talk to him in between the Qunari quests, and I still got the achievement, so I assume it's not a big deal.
And I loved Sten, even though he considered my Warden a pest and wanted nothing to do with her. xD She was too nice I guess. :innocent:

I took my time - it took me 52 hours on my first run. So that many hours for <you can get it at half price now> seems worth it to me. You can play around a bit with the different voices for Hawke on a second run - its kinda fun and change your relationships with the companions.

Ah, Sten. I remember bringing him to Haven after he called my Surana Warden his "Kadan," and told The Warden that he trusted him with his life. As for the Achievement to earn the Respect of the Arishok, if I recall correctly:

Act One:

- Mentioning "future profits" to the Arishok during "Blackpowder Promise" (having Fenris brought along includes some additional dialogue scenes)
- Mentioning what Sister Petrice tried to do with the Qunari mage Ketojan

Act Two:

- Notify the Arishok about his missing Qunari delegates during "Offered and Lost"
- Notify the Arishok about the deaths of his delegates
- Admit the Tome was stolen by Isabela
- Tell the Arishok that the elves deserve a second chance

I joined this site expecting to find fanatics who had chosen every possible response for every chance Hawke got, but in less than 15 minutes I have found that most of you seem to dislike the game. But if there is anyone out there who has searched every corner of the map, I'd appreciate your help.

I rented DA2. Planned on buying it if I really liked it. Did NOT plan on finishing it within my alloded 5 nights. So that made me wonder if it's really worth it. I really liked the story, but if it's that short, what's the point in spending $60? Then again, I only earned 42% or something that that of the available trophies. I usually went on to the main plot as soon as I could, and left several of the secondary and side quests unfinished. I only did one or two of the companion quests. I found out I didn't even find two of the possible party members.

Here's how the story went: Got into the city, went on the Deep Roads, killed Arishok, killed Meredith, game over.

After I was done, I looked at the trophies I hadn't gotten. One of them wwas for becoming the Viscount. That would be pretty freakin' awesome. One was for earning Arishok's respect. I never even came close to that. Does that happen from doing some of those quests, or just from making different descisions? Are there different outcomes if I make different choices?

Basically, can I get a lot more out of this game than I have?

I finished 2 playthroughs, each clocking about 50 hours.

Yes, there is alot of choices you can make each time.

My first playthrough I searched every corner of the maps, did every quest I saw etc.  I bought the guide for the second playthrough and foun I didn't miss much.  Some trophies take a bit to get so don't fret.

Don't know about becoming Viscount yet, but the Arishok one .. you need to always speak to the Arishok after doing anything regarding Qunari.  If you killed some talk to him.  Those ones missing?  Talk to him, etc.

And I am NOT one of those who dislike the game.  Forums are such a tiny percentage of players, remember that.

Should also note for anyone complaining about how they feel decisions matter less this go around? It's just because Hawke didn't get as many sweeping decisions like the Hero did. You don't get to decide kings and then get them all to battle some afterthought of yet another dragon. The only other true deciding factor that maybe let you feel you accomplished something was just programmed paragraphs of text but that isn't truly far different than DA2 in the overall scheme of things. Instead we just didn't get the epilogues to click through. Besides that your choices were only displayed by which allies you call for the end scenario. DA2 sort of has that in getting extra fighters at the end like Zevran & Nathaniel.

No.

Beat it three times. Started an archer as my fourth....it suffered the Isabela bug and I deleted her. Then I started another Mage Hawke as my forth and deleted it before beginning the Act story of Act 2.

And I just beat DA:O as an Amell Warden to see the difference in DA2 and try out the patches I've missed. Finally be able to see quests and dialogue that was glitched into not happening the last time I played the game.

...I've abandoned the latest Hawke in Act 1.

The game's boring. It's not fun. There's no replay value. I cannot beat it a fourth time. I cannot. Why? I don't know.

But it's boring. And walking down the same maps multiple times only underlines the fact that it's boring.

I'm just finished my third playthrough, and I enjoyed it a lot. I finally managed to keep Isabela in my party and earn the arishok's respect. I will start my fourth soon(I still haven't finshed it as a rogue or warrior)
