You guys have disgustingly clean and well organized desktops.  I have:

 

5 folders

7 excel file shortcuts

the trash bin

3 web link shortcuts

2 msword doc shortcuts

5 program file shortcuts

2 image shortcuts

1 batch file shortcut

1 weather update icon

 

The back ground image is nice though, Long Gulley Beach, South Australia at sunset.

 

(btw....all the people with these maddeningly clean destops?  I'm sending these images to north korea!)

I only have one icon on my desktop and that's the Recycle Bin, and even then when it is empty the icon is invisible. Taskbar is on auto-hide too.

My desktop isn't clean, it's barren.
