Hi all,

NB member here 13 years on line and counting.

I gotta get this off my chest lol.  I bought ME on day 1 in 2007 and likewise ME2 in 2010.

I read all these articles by so called critics and Casey Hudson is still in charge but ME and ME2 are
as different as chalk and cheese.    Basic story line is the same but thats it.

ME is about glorious vistas, incredible drives, buying and selling weapons and armour and engaging fights
and battles.    There are few of these in ME2.    In fact in ME you could get to level 60 as points are acrewed
at 2 to begin with and then 1 per level although my personal best is 54.  You max out in ME2 at 30 and thats it.
Too many empty spaces on the score card.

The sub plots in ME are as important as the 4 main battles leading to the conclusion and are well thought out
and planned and every bit as well designed and penned as any other part of the game.

Thats not the case in ME2 where everything is focused on the Collectors although there are some improvements
such as Lair of the Shadow Broker and Arrival.

Another thing I don't like is the way you are 'chaptered' whereas in ME you play the rotation you want not
what the game drives forward.

However having said all of this Mass Effect and ME2 are still the best games out there and I am counting the days to the release of ME3.  For me Mass Effect ranks alongside Mech Warrior and Tachyon the Fringe anyday.
